I thought this might be a problem and I asked if D.C. would allow for it to happen, and the general consensus was yess ... if the Origin wasn't changed to drastically. 🙂

I've been speaking to Kurt Brusiek recently and it seems like no-one at D.C. has the balls to do anything new. Dan Diddio and everyone seems very confused as to what is cannon and what isn't. I can't believe Im saying it, but Superman needs a new John Bryne, but maybe with a few less screws loose.

Hears Whirly, Avlon, Dvampire, crying at the thought ...

I actually like what Byrne did. Most of it made sense.

The worst part by far was that he toned down Superman way too much in power...Part of the fun of Superman has always been his ridiculously over the top antics...but the continuity was fine.

Dead planet? Check.

Last kryptonian (besides the Eradicator?) Check.

No powers till late teens. No problem.

Kryptonite not in every corner store? Great.

Living Solar Battery...no problem as long as it's the catalyst for however his powers do work.

Nice simple and clean.
