Ok people check it out. Due to a misunderstanding between Roldz and myself, I'm going to allow him to change his pick from Gambit to Chamber(classic). We got our wires crossed about Gambit, and it was mostly my fault for not going into as much detail as I did with Trickster(so that's MY bad).

People in both threads have some....interesting opinions when it coems to these amalgams. I think probably most of us have 5-6 people (at least) that we don't know much about, so we can't really tell what will be done with them.

I have my opinions too, but they'll all change because a lot comes down to clever meshes that we haven't thought of yet or powers that we didn't know these people have. Also debating skill and matchups.

Dane needs to be banned. He's way over the killability level.

Well, my impressions on the guys who have been completely confirmed.

I made makeshift names for all the people who I haven't seen with amalgam names yet. Don't like them? Your problem.

Scoobless- Hairy Stone Jacket...guy.
1.(Mind) Moonstone II

3.(Powers) Yellow Jacket

I can see there being some serious power with this guy. He has taken out Yellowjacket’s durability weakness with Sasquath, and added firepower with the single Moonstone. This guy is also easily one of the most physically strongest characters in the tourney.

Blairwind- The Hellfire King

Well, I really like this one. Spot was just strike of genius. 😄 With Black King combined with Spot, there aren’t many attacks that will work against him. And Iron Man’s tech combined with those abilities? Probably the most versatile guy, with defense and attack equally tough.

King Kandy - War Abomination of Frost...man?

So many good Amalgams here. Kandy proves that you don’t always need to bring unknown characters into hay, since you can use well-known characters and get this kind of results. Mind, body and tech are all top notch. I can see him being really hard to take out.

Martian_mind - Boosting Thunder of Shadows 😄
1.(Mind) Booster Gold
2.(Body) Shadowcat
3.(Powers) Thunder

Only character I know about this bunch is Shadowcat, and I know how hard her phasing ability is to counter. Physical attacks are pretty much ineffective. Booster Gold supposedly has a good tech level, and Thunder’s abilities give the amalgam even more add to his defense, and powerful attack. Don’t really know what kind of strategies to expect, but it will be nice to see them.

Entity – Dark Rage
1.(Mind) Black Panther
2.(Body) Sabertooth
3.(Powers) Northstar

Well, this might be the most dangerous guy in close fight. Sabretooth with Northstar’s speed alone is a scary though, but with Black Panther’s equipment, intelligence and fighting skills? I can see this character taking nearly anyone up close. This is one of my favorites, and might just be the dark horse, depending on how he is used. 🙂

Newjak - Sir Fuzzy The Lumpkins

2.(Body) Colossus
3.(Powers) Cannonball

Did someone say durability? Because this guy has it in SPADES. Colossus’s indestructible body with Cannonballs forcefield? Ouch. And Black Knight’s armor on top of that, with the sword as the weapon? He easily competes with Entity’s amalgam as the most dangerous close guy, and I have to say that he is also a dark horse. The capabilities with this guy are good too.

Devil Lance - Guarding Wonderful Woman/Man
1.(Mind) Guardian(Heather)
2.(Body) Wonderman
3.(Powers) invisible woman

This one is powerful too. Wonderman is one of the physically impressive characters here, Guardian has one of the most impressive tech here, and Invisible Woman’s powers give him a real good opportunity to manipulate the battlefield to his advantage. Plus he will be invisible. Really nice amalgam.

Spiral? Don’t know lot about her except that she has six arms. Same with Death’s Head, although what I have seen from Respect Thread and such, he is badass. And Indigo…I know nothing. Leo is a tourney champion though, so he probably did not pick these up by accident. 😄

I’d make more indepth analysis, but I think that would reveal too much stuff and give some strategies. So I stay with the praice.

Just a note on DC's comments: he mentioned Death's Head's respect thread. Leo's pick is DHII, a different person, and > the original in most respects. He'll get a respect thread shortly as well, but I didn't want to spoon-feed leo my entire collection ( 😛 ).

Also, I'm looking forward to Scoob's matches. While everyone else tries for versatile and clever stuff, he's just going to go Godzilla on everyone and stomp the hell out of sh*t. There's plenty of great amalgams capable of winning it all, but that seems like one of the most fun.

Also, Bigfoot's my name suggestion. Obvious, but still cool. 😎

Yup.

It's also a reference to the philosophy of "win the war then fight it" (OK a retroactive reference) and the fact that Scoob can't possibly win with a single strategy.
