When India and Pakistan split in 1947 (partition) it was agreed that afterwards the then-Indian state of Kashmir would be granted the right to vote on whether it wanted to be part of India, part of Pakistan or its own independent country.

60 years later, it's occupied by India, Pakistan and China, and an official, accurate vote has yet to take place. And it's more or less turned into a macho pissing contest between Pakistan and India over who gets Kashmir.

And unfortunately a lot of people are dying in the process. The splitting of India into Pakistan, Bangladesh was a messy process altogether.

What you would want us to say then? That the splitting of India and Pakistan was a mistake? It was the only option the two party's had... The split was messy the people didn't like it and yet it was the only option they had.

If even somebody like Ghandi couldn't create peace and keep the country together very few others could.

First off, you saying it is the most horrible even in human history is purely your opinion. I don't see you all up in arms about slavery, current genocides in Africa, and so on so explain to me the difference. Is it because they were not as "tragic?"

Never said it wasn't tragic but people generally do not care about those who are not in their circle. It's not that I do not care, but I can't cry for every crime committed that I find about in history, in today's wars, or on the local news just as I am sure you do not. I feel for them but I know if it said tomorrow on the board "chithappens murdered" you wouldn't give a ****.

The fact you can not understand that I am saying that the current violence in India is a tragedy and that most here do not care because they do not experience it is kinda pitiful. Since most folk are in no way affected and the people are not the same as them, they tend to not care. Not saying that is how it should be, but that is how it is.
