"She never fails to amaze me. Going in in five?"

"No, they won't be there for another ninety minues."

"I suppose we have ample prep time, then..."

Indeedy so...

Shortly I will open up communication between the two threads so you can update each other on the situation and start to sort out this mess.

Contact between the Paths is now open!

EDIT

Mors will answer when the Philo team, presumably, calls the Shez.

"Mors speaking," he answers.

They all seem too depressed to say anything yet. Man.

It's Sirin, and she has this to say:

- The Hunter is one of Jericho's Machine duplicates; due to an error in the creation process (i.e. Agents), he has no deletion interface.

- The Door was the gateway to a prison for dangerous Machines, more or less.

- The Doctor is meant to put Machines, such as the Virus, behind that Door, but cannot harm humans, so no worries there.

- The Virus was freed from the Door by us. He is meant to infect all of humanity within the Matrix, which happens through just being near him. It affects the mind, and therefore the body.

- The Virus is incredible deadly with martial arts. The 12 Agents at the Monastery are gone, their hosts killed by the Virus.

- Lo Qi and Jericho have immunized the Virus to the Doctor's method of putting Machines behind the Door. He cannot be imprisoned this way.

- We think that Sennacherib may have been his creator, and may have a way of stopping the Virus.

- If it IS Sennacherib, we may be able to convince him to share his knowledge on the grounds that if the Virus destroys the Matrix, humanity will be able to destroy the Machines, and Sennacherib will have ultimately lost the war.

I shall point out that that is not quite accurate about how the virus infects, though.

Also, the Silent SWAT from the Museum were designed based on Melitus' masked henchmen, from Jericho's knowledge, by Lo Qi's programmers. They were trying to get the Key, obviously, but it at least means that Melitus is not involved with this.

Mors will listen patiently for her to finish, most likely feeling his ever-popular shiver down the spine as he realizes just how screwed they all are...

Once she's finished, he will relay all that to Dallas (except the incorrect infection bit), then get back on the phone.

"Sirin, what's your current status?" Mors asks.

To clarify about the Virus- it is designed to work on the link that seems to connect your virtual bodies to your physical ones- e.g. you break a leg out there, it often tends to break for real as well.

Via that link, it actually infects your physical bodies, and it is those that sicken and die. of course, because they are sick, you feel sick in the Matrix as well, and soon the two start to reinforce each other. But it is not a mental effect the infection is absolutelky real, it uses the Matrix as a delivery system.

It is meant to be an ironic twist on the term 'computer virus'. Not a programme showing virus-like qualities, but a biological virus delivered via a computer.

It is useless on Machines who have no biology to infect.

Twisted...

Mors will relay that to Dallas as well, but is still waiting to hear what the situation is with Sirin and the others. Where they are, what they're doing, etc.

Well, they have escaped thanks to the Oracle and have their stuff; unless Dallas has other orders (nope) they are heading back to the Fortress.

"Leaving the Monastery is an excellent idea," Mors says to Sirin. "The farther you can get, the better."

He clamps a hand over the mouthpiece. "Dallas, do we want them to wait for us before they go to the Fortress? We didn't do so well last time, even with a full crew. I can't imagine a portion of the crew would do spectacularly."

They are keen to do it VERY VERY QUICKLY.

They are rather worried they might die first, otherwise.

Sirin also has this to add:

---

Sirin will relay that to Mors as well, that the release of the Virus was all masterminded by Lo Qi and Jericho for the purpose of destroying the Matrix to allow the continuation of the evolutionary process.

---

Although basically she explains it with a brevity that doesn't go deeper than what I just posted there.

"Mad monks, destroy everything, evil solution, yeah. got it," says Dallas.

"Best of luck, then," Mors says. "The Fortress isn't a nice place, as you well know. Hopefully you can find the solution to this mess there."

Hawk looks around at the others, and deciding that no one else is going to act, steps up alongside Mors.

"Umm... guys? Just so you know... the Percy is, well, pretty much gone. We have several people out here in critical condition, too. And Ariadne..." he stops, looks around, and just sighs.

They hung up already.

"Don't bother thwm with that," says Dallas.
