"Were you able to identify Telos, then?"

"You must remember Telos is an elusive and theoretical goal, and nor am I exclusively Hegelian in thought. I am using it as a convenient philosophical reference for you. Suffice to say... I am convinced there is a point to everything."

"Good to hear that everything happens for a reason."

"Is that what you think? That doesn't necessarily coincide with what I do. It ascribes ultimately positive consequences to all things."

MY BELIEFS

"Not necessarily positive, but I see your point."

Lo Qi finishes writing the new title.

"Do you think there is anything fundamentally different between the way Machines and Humans think?"

"Most likely, yeah."

Edit

"Could you describe some of those differences?"

Oops Ush I think I typed that out wrong I just got up and I'm a little under the weather but here is what I meant.

"To tell you the truth I don't really see much difference between a machine and human's thinking"

Fair enough- well, those that do, can come up with some areas they think there are differences in.

"Well, I think one diffrence is the fact that Machines are created with with a purpose- so they live their existence more focused on this, perhaps it makes them more "practical' in some regards, focusing on efficient existence, and don`t letting themselves be as distracted from their purpose as it often happens with humans that think that they have " purpose."

And I think Machines are free from the many fears and anxieties that humans have to deal with. They are not going to die from old age, don`t have to be afraid of getting old themselves, I also assume that diseases are not a concern as well. I also doubt whether there is any equivalent of social insecurity or threat of violence in Machine Society.

So while posessing a fixed purpose, Machines may not have many motivations of humans- they don`t have to deal with constant rivalry, because they are not going to be replaced even if they do their jobs relatively poorly, and they don`t need to care about securing the future for their children as most humans do. So I suppose that Machines are less emotional than humans, and more likely to follow reason and logic instead of their basic fears and desires. Being effectively immortal, their ability to learn and acumulate knowledge may be unlimited, so they have potential to become very enlightened beings, having diffrent perspective than humans. On the other side, I am not sure if they do not become too stagnant after a long existance, not having any outside reasons to evolve or change their beliefs."

"Machines do not do their jobs poorly unless mis-designed, in which case they are replaced."

"Yes, but it seems that they usually don`t have to be afraid of being replaced with more efficient Machines, unlike human who may be afraid that someone else will take their job or position."

"I think we should turn our minds to more metaphysical things. Matters of basic philosophy and beliefs."

"Well. perhaps I should hear... what any of you think about there being an ultimate point, or purpose."

"I don`t believe in objective purpose- every being is free to define it- actually seeking and achieving personal development may be considered purpose into itself."

( I wanted to post more, but I have exam in two days).

A fair view.

"I believe we have an ultimate purpose in life but it is our choice to follow it"

"Can you define what you mean by ultimate purpose? Ultimate how? What is the source?"
