"So are we manipulated pawns then? Oracle is a programme too, after all..."

"What're you, a conspiracy theorist?" Heph asks. "We got the key and opened the Door, I hardly see that as being manipulated. We wanted to, after all."

"I would have preferred it if you had been in a better situation to have the choice to walk away," says Lo Qi. "Still, he is right. It is done now.

"As for what it is... that is difficult to explain."

"Well, it seems that our Hunter friend and Monks wanted it as well, and they knew why on a diffrent level, since our decision was based on nothing else but bunch of risky assumptions...

We were told that opening the door brought us the victory in war. But is it the war of Zion, or war of some Exiles and errant programmes?"

(This was response to Heph)

"Hey!" says one of the Dudemonks. "I didn't take you there! It was all down to him."

Heph just shrugs.

"Well, I suppose we have time, Lo Qi. After all, this has become part of our mission."

"I'm afraid time is something you have very little of," says Lo Qi. "But I shall answer some of your questions now, in so much as there are inly some you can really understand right now."

"See, NOW he'll tell you," Heph says to Melkor.

"Who...or what...did we set free by unlocking the Door?"

"Well, this might be confusing, but basically... he is a virus. A very ironic computer virus."

"Where lies the irony? Who created it?"

"Like a bug in the system?"

(By the way, Ush, can we make Computer rolls to keep up with computer terms in-game?)

Sure you can.

"No, not really," says Lo Qi. "The System rather tries not to create bugs; they mess things up. The Matrix's design form called for parameters of perfection. That aim has been shown to have its limits, but not at so basic a level."

"So what caused the creation of this virus?"

"I cannot answer that in good conscience without confusing you. You ask if the System made it, I could answer yes, but you would be none the wiser. That is something best left to another time."

"What does this virus have to do with the Matrix's attempt of perfection?"

"Nothing at all, really. I was just questionning your identification of it as a 'bug'. It is functioning very well indeed."

"Well...then what's the purpose of this virus?"

"What is the purpose of this virus inside the Matrix? What he will do now? And why was he locked instead of being destroyed?

Finally, is his nature in any way similar to that of the Hunter?"

"Well, its purpose is to spread, that's what it will do now, and it wasn't destroyed because it can't be."
