parties constrain freethinking within ideological bounds. Answers to problems must come from pre-approved world views.

They want the war over, but a majority of Americans also support the troops. They want the war to be over... who hasn't EVER wanted a war to be over? If we pull out with our tails between our legs we look (and are, in fact) weak, and it just gives a boost to enemies who want to face us in the future. If we run with our tail between our legs by cutting funding for the military, not only do we look weak, but we are basically cutting off support for our troops in the field.
