I think it's stupid because current equipment might not necessarily be standard equipment. 😬

For example, if a character has used something for over 20 years and then suddenly changes; I think it would be more logical to have to state that "Oh I want Spiderman post 'The Other' " than "I want Spiderman pre 'The Other".

So if somebody was to say "I want Spider-Man" IMO I would expect it to be pre 'The Other'.

I would assume that they wanted current Spider-Man ... why deliberately go for the inferior version?

Still, I think it's a good idea to get all this standard/classic/specific-era equipment debate out of the way before tomorrow so that people know where they stand.

ermm I'm actually not sure why I'm so bothered by it, but I still think it'd be best with "standard" equipment (ie Thor with Mjolnir, Captain America with unbreakable shield, Daredevil with billy-club etc.) rather than current

i DO see where you're going, but some characters have had equipment and versions changed an awful lot and determining the 'classic equipment' isn't necessarily easy. 😬

BK is one such example. i know he had the ebony blade for quite a while but he's had the sword and shield since, what -- 1998 or 1999? that's a long time as well. i don't think it unfair that people declare their equipment. i'm almost certain it was in the rules somewhere.

for the record, bizznatches, that 'unicorn' was imraith-nimphais, an engine of war, created by the goddess dana for the sole-purpose of battling and killing the dark forces of rakoth maugrim, the unraveller, the essence of evil in the first of all worlds, a world of which we are merely a shadow. imraith's true purpose was to ultimately meet and destroy the Dragon of Rakoth Maugrim, the mightiest creature in the world.

did it succeed in doing so? read the trilogy and find out. 😄 i guarantee you'll thank me for the recommendation. 😉

GETTING BACK does not mean HAS. ergo, by tournament rule, you get 'current' equipment unless you're stating otherwise. 😉 you almost SOUND like you're saying he'll be carrying all THREE blades into each battle. if that's legal, someone better tell me because i could use that little bit of info and put it to good use. 🙂

besides, you'd be an idiot NOT to take the shield and sword.
