Nation is so commonly used to refer to entire continents/sub-continents everyone should have realised that it wasn't a mistake on his part that he couldn't change after the 15 minute edit period and he meant to post it. I do it all the time. I get my drugs from the nation of South America. The nation of the Middle East is really ****ed up right now. And so on.
Effect is the noun.
Affect is the verb.

I like your lecture, it effects me deeply. I hope it has the same affect on other listeners, continue.

Have you not heard about the tax incentive to use public transportation? Or the refitting of diesel school buses? Go wikipedia it. Also, I can't find any indication that Harper's poll numbers have dropped...
The problem is thats very small things, when it comes to the environment we need to start looking at big solutions and smaller deadlines.
And have you been following the news? His numbers have gone down so far that the news have started asking the parties if they are going to take advantage and call an election.
And you never commented on your parties brilliant idea of those lightbulbs which cannot be thrown out due to the magnesium in them.

I find that surprising considering his popularity in the West hasn't dropped in the least. What's going to happen if there is an election and a new government? Reimplement Kyoto? It won't work because the West doesn't care. It would make it impossible.
It's not my party. But besides that, you only saw one side of the story. It is entirely feasible for them to create a lightbulb recycling program. Fluorescent lightbulbs have been in use for years and it really hasn't been a problem before.
Originally posted by StarhawkOnce again, no they won't. Alberta's economy and tax money is so vital to the stability of the country that pissing it off would be very counterproductive. Alberta seperation is a large movement. They don't want to seperate yet, but a large portion of Albertans would be more than willing to seperate if the government tried to fine us. It's actually a laughable idea. Alberta has said no before. Kyoto is an example of it happening. The Liberals did nothing, the Conservatives have done nothing and it is simply because they can't.
The west cannot say no to the federal government. If they did the federal government can fine them. And on an individual basis arrest them.
Yes they can, and if they haven't its only because you haven't pushed them far enough. And just because Alberta might want to separate doesn't mean it would happen. During the last Quebec referendum, Canada had arrangements with the US in case we needed extra troops to keep the peace in Quebec. What I mean is the government doesn't have to LET you separate.
