Thor can't beat Superman outside the Sun let alone inside 😂
That is very debatable. The out of the Sun part.
Thor has shown that he can drain energy from a blast powerful enough to level an entire "galaxy".
Like I stated, in the right mind set and situation Thor can win.
If Thor, decided, he could channel most of the energy, of the Sun, increase it's power with his own mystical might, and redirect it all at Superman.
It would take seconds really. He did to the Null Bomb without any warning about when it's going to blow up, so Thor has the capabilities as his hammer allows nearly infinite energy absorption and redirection.
Like I stated, in the right circumstances he can win.
Also, seeing, as how Starfire can drain Kryptonian's of Solar Energy, Thor could drain not only the majority of the Sun's energy but Superman's Solar Energy as well.
All this draining, and redirecting, really would only take a few seconds if Thor had the will to do it.
All though Thor probably doesn't have any knowledge on Superman and so would not use his versatile power set in proper tactics for a win.
In a hand to hand fight, in the Sun, Superman obviously wins.
And Superman with his vastly superior superspeed at base...which will exponentially grow every passing second will just stand there and let Thor do it...right?
No.
Superman blitzes the hell out of Thor with enough strength to severe his head from his torso.
True Thor can take out Supes...but here inside the core of the sun he is hardpressed to beat Superman. Just like Superman is hardpressed and pretty much could not beat Thor without using his Superspeed outside the sun.

That's assuming, Superman knows what the hell Thor is doing and Superman is known for rushing in blindly and speed blitzing opponents...
That is why I said, from his lacking knowledge of Superman, Thor would have to a pretty good guesser about Superman and his physical abilities.
The same would go for Superman concerning Thor.
Either of them can win in the right situation.
I mean, if Thor knew what he had to do to win, and Superman lacking any knowledge on Thor, Thor could take those precious seconds of Clark thinking, to do all he needs to do. I mean it literally take about 5 seconds or less, seeing as what he did to the null bomb and vise versa for Clark and Thor.
Either way, this thread, said for beings who "can" beat Superman even inside the Sun, and Thor "can" under the write circumstances.
This isn't about who wins the majority from my understanding.

It's possible, thor has the versatility but doesn't have the speed. Inside the sun is where supes would be at his most potent, with a direct feed of continous solar energy Thor wouldn't haven't a chance...it's a situation that immensly favors supes.

Well, at least that explains why Sentry was able to stalemate Galactus.
