Telling Bruce exactly what he did to him hardly counts as "mockery." It's like what Bruce said to him after he blocked his chop.
Mockery would be if Val said something along the lines of "your pathetic fighting skills make me laugh."

I never said that KK giving Bruce a hernia means jack shit. However, Bruce didn't even seem like he was in pain. At best, he was annoyed by it.

The point is they weren't equal in the first place and it's laughable to consider otherwise. Karate Kid ripped up Bats armor, removed his belt (with ease), gave him a hernia and chided him mid battle while escaping with minor bruises and tattered clothing. Not my definition of equal grounds.
Karate Kid definitely had the upper hand during the fight. He had enough of an upper hand to force Batman to use strategy instead of trying to outduel him with skill.
Batman's helmet was split open. And it was a helmet, not a simple mask as Black Lightning says. Batman recieved a hernia. His chest plate was torn open. And his belt was stripped from him forcefully. Anyone who thinks that taking Batman's belt in a straightup fistfight does not matter and ought to be dismissed is a complete jackass. He has all his weapons in the damn thing.
If you read the intercut narration of Red Arrow and Mr. Terrific's lines you'll see that the author was analogizing that Batman was planning that fight out the entire time. He was taking the punches and the punishment to manuever Karate Kid into a vulnerable position. If he was the better fighter, he wouldn't have needed to cheat.
But cheating to win is still winning. It is certainly a respectable feat. I think before this fight, a thread like Batman v. Karate Kid would have gotten laughs and anybody who would have said that Batman could win through strategy, if not skill, would have been flamed.
As for Cap vs Karate Kid? Cap has not fought a lot of people that outclassed him in pure skill. In fact, I can't think of anybody. He's been outclassed in strength, speed, agility and firepower... but those he can deal with. Pure skill? I think Cap would be taken by surprise and lose a fair majority. Cap doesn't resort to underhanded strategems to win.
Karate Kid 7/10 at least.
