Maybe not the best shot in the world, but still you got a decent one anyways considering the circumstances...better luck next time. What kind of snake was it, I've never seen markings or bands like that.

I'm not entirely certain, I'll have to look it up. I believe it's a sidewinder.

No one wants to look at snakes.

Except trowser snakes, mine, in particular.

Ok, I looked it up and I was wrong, it's not a sidewinder, it's a harmless Gopher snake. 🙂

tough luck... could have been a great photo. ..from the looks though.. its a pretty snake.

I hate snakes, besides the one in my pants.

Even if it is harmless, I wouldn't want to be going anywhere near a snake. O_O

Sorry you missed it, but you'll get another chance. Some of the biggest pictures were taken at random without much thought. Its just some randomness caught in time with a picture.

I didn't want to be near it either, but it captivated me so I had to follow it.

Nu uh. 🙁

I've seen a boomslang in a tree before, didn't get really close though and the snake guy was called to come and get it cause it was in a housing complex. xD

When I lived out at the lake I saw many rattlers in the employee housing, Park Rangers would have to come out once a week or more to remove them.

Don't you have Black Mambas around South Africa too?

I think so, I don't really like snakes, so I wouldn't know. >.>
