Approximately 200,000 cases, excluding vandalisms as the BJS report excluded vandalisms in it's per 1,000 population figure. This report gives a per 1,000 population figure of 9, per annum

More recent figures are only available for a fee. But unless they've shot up 300% in the last 6 years, it's not 30 per 1000.

To summarize according to official statistics:
Country || Hate crimes absolute || Hate crimes per 1000 pop
U.S.A. || ~200,000 || 0.8
Canada || ~200,000 || 9

I have to say this, you rule for finding statistics from Canada, all I could find was a bullshit report saying their hate crime rate was likely up to 10 times higher then the official figures said.

Which could mean that Canada has 90 of out 200,000...

It would seem that the official stats on hate crimes are much lower than the real amount of hate crimes, this is from an article that was talking about a justice department report looking at hate crime from 2000-2003

"The report by the Justice Department is the one most often cited by hate-crime experts as depicting the true national story. It shows the number of incidents is more than 15 times higher than FBI statistics alone reflect."

That article is actually referring to the Harlow paper above. Indeed there are two commonly used U.S. crime statistic reports, the UCR and NCVS. While the former underestimates by only taken into account reported crime, the latter would probably overestimate, due to its survey methodology, as a result of perception of hate crime, where it may not be objectively classified as such. Neither of which state 27 million hate crimes occur in the U.S. per annum.

Any race can not just gays or black or whatever.It is the crime that will never stop.Having a hate crime is not going to do any good.IF we are going to arrest people who say gays are bad in public or something il ke that.
