Mr.X beat Wolverine because he was created with that specific purpose, but he later went on to lose to Wolverine and disappeared off into comic limbo.

They can, but they don't.

I would much rather read tournaments between characters in limbo, then ones full of over exposed, popular characters IMO.

why?

You know IF will win the tourament.......so whats the point.

it be more entertaining with a bunch of popular MA and not so popular MA becuase you really would not know who would win in the end.

so you rather read about one popular character vs a bunch of one arch no buddies? Then a tourament with a bunch of well knowns and some less knowns?

No, I don't actually, because I don't think he will; but either way I have enough faith in Brubaker and Fraction, that whatever happens it will be thoroughly entertaining.

No, you would know who would win though, it would come down to it being Daredevil, Captain America or Wolverine.

That's why I think having mostly unknown characters is better, because you don't know who's going to win, you don't know who the characters even are. You learn about them as the tournament goes on and you don't have any presumptions or "Oh well, we all know so and so is going to win it..", you're left guessing 'till the very end.

And certain story-lines with high profile characters, just don't do that for me anymore.

so your trying to tell me that you think it more likly to be a surprize when it one well known characters vs a bunch of new characters then it is with a bunch of well knowns?

That really does not make sense.

seeing as how you think people aura's well effect the out come if that would be true then clearly the story with one well known character would be pritty easy to guess the winner............

at least with a bunch of well knowns there a chance it could any number of them.

also I doubt DD would make it to the final 3.

Yes.

Because we know (or have a good idea) of how well popular characters are going to do, because we've seen examples of their skill before, ie if you put Wolverine against Forbush Man: We'd know that Wolverine would win because he has vast advantages over Forbush Man, who we know won't possibly win because he's just a guy with a pot on his head.

With unknown characters that we don't have a clue about, other than what we're shown, they could easily own everyone and we couldn't really be like WTF? because the don't have any previous showings, it's a fresh slate.

And I want to see new characters, fresh blood isn't a bad thing, I want to learn about them; I don't want to see the same old, tired over-exposed people that only got there to boost title sales.

I see what you mean. I still think it be cool though

damn sleep! nonefist i missed all the debate

I gotta agree with V. Do you really think that they'll (referring to marvel) let Captain America get trashed by the bride of nine spiders? Do you think Wolverine will get his ass walked all over by the prince of orphans?

It just won't happen. And if it DID happen - there'd be a cop out explanation for it, and Wolverine or Steve would go on to beat the same person later. 😬.

Marvel just isn't going to risk angering the fans like that.

In my humble opinion, of course.

I also gotta agree that it isn't guaranteed that Danny will win the tournament. In fact, I very much doubt he will. IN FACT - I doubt the tournament will run to completion, to be honest. Maybe a round or two, but I feel that something will interrupt it, either to put a war between the immortal weapons, or having all of them team up against another threat.

But who knows? Maybe I'm totally wrong - maybe Danny will go on to shit stomp the Prince of Orphans - who seems an ominous and threatening foe.

nah i gotta say i doubt Danny will win. but his participation will allow him to leave.

Something remote should happen early on, that seems inconsequential, but involves most of the Immortal Weapons.

Then, when Danny is fighting PoO (tee hee), the consequences of the earlier event (big baddies, etc.) arrive, PoO sacrifices himself, we never know who won.

OR, PoO embarasses Danny in an easy defeat, but then gets stomped by baddies, who Danny defeats.

That's assuming he gets that far. The fact that he is fighting Dog Brother #1 later than he SHOULD be seems to indicate that Danny either loses and goes into a 'second place' tournament, or that the Immortal Weapons get into a battle outside the tournament itself.

ARRGGHHH I'm not buying these issues.......must wait for trade.......I know if I buy the issues I will miss one issue where all the cool stuff happens....Must wait for trade......the temptation, unbearable........

"dog brother" who came up with these names lol
