The reason I used silver surfer is due to the fact that silver surfer can survive in any environment, not because its a yellow, purple, or red sun. The sun and nukes are two different things. The sun shouldnt even be brought up when testing superman durability.

Superman can’t survive in a Red Sun because it drains him of his powers. Do you understand that? It’s not because he’s not durable enough. Red Sun radiation drains his powers. Try to get that through your head.
Silver Surfer isn’t drained by Red Sun radiation. A red sun would effect him the same way a yellow sun would. Superman starts losing his powers in the proximity of a Red Sun, but he’s still survived going through one. To put it simply, when the Sun is red it starts to drain Superman. That’s why he was becoming weaker when the Eradicator turned the Earth’s sun red. He was still on Earth but was losing his powers.

Something that gives you your powers, its a 90% chance that it wont be able to hurt you. Just like I used the green lantern quote. The energy from the battery wont have any kind of affect on him.

If I ask you if nukes can hurt superman or not, Im not asking you if the sun can hurt him because its not, its his power source. Use something else like thanos or odin blasting him. So youre telling me that when spiderman was rapped up in red sunlight when him and superman clashed that every lick that he gave off was killing superman. Are you telling me when superman was in the jla/jsa book and he was trapped in dr fates deminsion and was still flying and all but his powers was going away slowly (because he didnt have the yellow sun there to replinish his powers) that his powers was completely gone. Yes youre right the red sun does have an affect on him because theres no yellow sun to aid his powers. How can you keep your powers when there is nothing there to give it to you. I want you to understand that using yellow sun in a battle to test superman durability is just something that should be looked over because its a battery for him. Thats all I want you to understand.

He gets his power from the yellow sun radiation. Not from it’s immense gravity, when he’s in the sun he’s still affected by its gravity. The Sun has more going for it than just heat. Nukes can’t hurt Superman, he’s taken them before. I’ve already given you examples, such as him surviving the force of a million Nukes in Hunter/Prey.
He’s absorbed enough energy to lay waste to half the Galaxy. He survived the force of 50 Supernovas while severely drained. Nukes aren’t going to have any serious effect on him, one time he took nuke while standing on kryptonite laced sand, and he wasn’t even bleeding after it hit him. He’s survived inside of a red sun more than 3 times.
He’s more durable than you think.
