The Simpsons. Most obvious answer sure, but 10 consecutive seasons of the best writing on television period, not to mention that even the later, less outstanding seasons (in my view season 11 onwards) are better than 90% of everything else on TV.
but for non comedy i would say Avatar: The last airbender, even though it is really funny
