Barbossa is a real pirate. The way we've always imagined pirates would be. Without him, Pirates of the Caribbean will never be the same.

yet with a sense of honor... convenient, shrewd, to the word agreements honor. Keeps a lot a promises for a pirate.

I saw the movie Les Miserables the other day, and Rush plays Javert... I had this distant image of Barbossa picking up the french police hat! 😄 😆 😊

I'm too lazy to go back pages and read, so I'll just bring this up for discussion....

Did anyone else notice that Elizabeth and Will both looked to Barbossa for guidance in the movie? It was weird, because with Jack they sort of do their own thing, but with Barbossa they go up and talk to him, ask him questions.

I don't think I'd call Barbossa a father figure. I think he's a fabulous mentor for them and I think he's more like a crazy, slightly embarrassing uncle. They like him to a degree, but then they can't wait for him to go away. 😄
