well ITS Pretty much Canon that Ororo and To a much lesser extent Remy can ASCEND on will..... Gambit had Sinister install a few stitches to guard against this happening accidentally Storm just excercises rigid controll.

Storm cannot beat Superman, even if she wasn't holding back. She hasn't demonstrated the power output to defeat him.
And even though Storm has sworn not to kill, she has gone back on her word before. She ripped out Marrow's heart before even though she didn't know Marrow had a second one.
