I READ THE FIC Surreal....IT WAS GREAT!!!!!!! So good...so well written!
miss_swann I think after finding out that Elizabeth had sent Jack to the locker...Will understood that Elizabeth wasn't in love with Jack. But before that when he didn't know... he thought she kissed Jack goodbye and she wanted to get him back from the locker because she loved him and all so...how could he have known?

BTW now that I think of it...I think you're right Surreal...they really did find another side of themselves through this whole thing. It's so great that they can love eachother even while knowing that the other isn't "all good" you know what I mean? And you're right...they did know eachother but they were forced to do things that they didn't want to...I just got to see that.

BTW I also must agree that the kiss between Jack and Elizabeth wasn't "a moment of pure and wonderful passion between two loving people" as you put it (it was actually more of a "kiss with a twist" as Keira put it) but the whole point is that I've read/watched so many movies/novels that I'm sick of the whole pure love concept where the two drool all over eachother (I'm dark...I know!) I just want to see people struggle with their feelings and emotions until they reach what they truly feel and...on no! I'm going all Sparrabeth again!! I'll stop now.

But you can at least give me credit for trying to understand Willabeth more can't you? Cause I like the WE pairing but I just need help getting in touch with it a bit more (hey! That's why I'm here!)

So back to WE!! Lets talk about the ending for them.

As much as I would have preferred that they could stay together and not wait 10 years... on one side I sorta think that this was better for them...it's romantic that she would wait 10 years to be with him 😄 and it would make their love even stronger.

I don't think Elizabeth worried very much that Will would choose his father over her....Will told her he loved her saying the words "I love you" several times...and not once in the entire Trilogy did i hear the words "I love You" from Elizabeth.....three simple little words that are not that hard to say when you love someone as madly as she loved Will -
this is what I don't get at the Parlay scene she tells Will "i've been aboard the Dutchman and I feel that course is a lost cause"....basically telling Will..you can't save your Father because he is too far gone and if you do it then you will be lost to me.....but then Will says "No course is lost if there is but one fool left to fight for it"...meaning, Jack is the fool willing to do it....so why is it that Jack can stab the heart and save Bootstrap from eternal damnation..but Will can't.....and why at the end when Will does "stab" the heart anyways, he and Liz can still be together....albeit, one day every ten years.....I guess Will had some pretty good swimmers too....

And Miss Swann..yes, she sent Jack to the Locker - she acted on a selfish impulse, and she used a passionate kiss to do it....why? To slake her lust and drown her guilt..for wanting Jack when she is suppose to love Will....

Jack was the ultimate Pirate for her...she idolized Pirates, thought it would be exciting to meet one...she didn't consider Will a true Pirate, even though she knew he was one (he didn't act like one)...in the rescue scene, she is totally mesmerized by Jack when she first sees him....and she trusts Jack, she has faith in him.....there is definetly a connection/bond between Jack and Liz too.....I think Liz looked at Jack like a rockstar....and T and T even comment on that when they do the Hallo around his head and she is looking up at him when he steps on the rifle and then she climbs up the steps and clings to his leg (still don't get why they had her do that....she should have ran down the stairs to help Will and comfort him when he fell from the nettng) - still one of the many confusing messages that was delivered in DMC based on what took place in AWE....

tee....your a very smart girl. It's amazing that you can look at Will and Elizabeth this way after being a Sparrabether for so long...and I admire that you are able to accept it...

I knew all along, although I didn't want to know, that Will and Eizabeth would wound up together...I knew Disney would not have Elziabeth go with Jack and break Will's heart.....

I guess what I just don't get is how the story evolved.....why did they have to show all these great connections between Jack and LIz, why couldn't they have found others ways to strengthen the love between Will and LIz besides that. Why did T and T want Liz and Jack to kiss? Why couldn't they have left well enough alone. Then I wouldn't be in this tizzy...

anyway....congratulations Willabethers for being right all along and for getting your W/E ending...and for getting to see a very brave and heroic Will evolve in AWE....

To be completely honest...I haven't accepted Willabeth yet you know? But I'm just trying. The points I see about WE are completely logical (deep down I'm a very logical person) I won't disagree with reason.

If it were modern day and Elizabeth were my friend I'd tell her to go for Will who could give her a stable, loving and VERY romantic and passionate relationship. Someone who obviousely loves her and would give his life for her...not Jack who was alluring, exciting, gorgeouse and yet too dangerous for her own good. (also I would want her to go off with Will so I could have Jack)

That's logic...but in fiction land...in my heart JE still has so much room for exploring. So...I'm still Sparrabeth and always will be and my heart still hasn't accepted WE but I really WANT to understand. That's why I'm here and trying to discuss it...(if I'm not ruining the WE mood that is 😄 I'm trying not to)

I have to agree Tigers. I know the JE interaction was neccassary for the plot yada, yada, yada...but I think if no closure was intended in AWE they shouldn't have put in all that JE in DMC...spare us the pain.

Same goes with WE you know? IF (I'm only saying IF) the ending wasn't supposed to be WE I would still feel a bit unsure about shattering their relationship you know? WHy build the relationship in COTBP and DMC only to ruin it? So I guess I wouldn't be totally ok with a bitter ending for Willabeth either.

Well sorry I can NEVER forget about JE and it will always be my one and only ship. Like if the ending was NOT WE would you say 'lets just forget about WE'??? You wouldn't because you would love it no matter what right?

However I want to be able to like WE a bit more than I do now (even if not equal to JE, though I will try)

See now I'll explain what I don't understand.
In my eyes(this is only me) W&E are the perfect couple...they have the perfect amount of passion, the perfect amount of respect, the perfect amount of love, perfect amount of trust and they interact just so PREFCETLY.

They have problems but they solve them together and develope through the series...I UNDERSTAND that. They are PERFECT but...that's the problem (for me) they are TOO perfect...

They are too classic. I'm a romance junkie and I used to love classics but I'm just sick of this routine repeating itself. **********(YOU DON'T NEED TO READ BELOW IF YOU DON'T HAVE TIME JUST SKIP TO THE ENDING WHERE I MARKED)*********

So I guess my problem isn't with WE per say it's with their type of romance....

Yes I am indeed rambling again but let me explain plz...see we have two types of romance.

A) Classical romance. Girl meets boy...instant connection and sweet,pure love. They have problems...solve them together. They develope and make eachother complete...they save eachother and in the end they give eachother one big romantic smooch in the sunset/rain/snow/middle of the street or some other equally exotic setting. example: basically most of the Disney movies ever made plus some classical novels.

B) Love/hate relationship which I won't elaborate on cause this is the WE thread. But in short: The two hate eachother but find eachother interesting. They start wanting eachother but think the idea of wanting eachother repulsive and it results in...you get the drill right? example: Spike and Buffy and some other

Now the reason I love JE so much is that they don't even fall into the B category completely...they're a new category (I realize doesn't belong in this thread)

In real life A is wonderful no? But in fiction...isn't it milked dry? It's so routine and so expectable (at least to me)

********(START READING AGAIN)********so what I want to understand is how is WE exciting and breath taking??? How is it still unexpectable when it's the most told story in history (minus the ending which I think was a nice touch)

They are classical...only T&T felt that to make them interesting they have to throw in some sword fights and battles.

Maybe it's just personal taste you know? That's what I think! WE offers passion, trust and sweet romance while JE offers excitement, adventure and chemistrey...it's just a matter of which you like.

I do and maybe that's why I can't love WE as much as I love JE. 😉

I think WE aren't exciting and breathtaking they ARE classic so that's what makes it so cute and lovable and happily ever after. But JE is sort of like ping-pong if you get what I mean? Like way to fast and complicated.

I still like WE though...it beats the other classical couples! None of them compare to WE.Because in WE...Elizabeth doesn't lay around waiting to be saved...she's a strong heroin!! They work well together...they are sweet and perfect..I mean that in a good way 😄

They really love eachother!! When they kissed on the Pearl they're expression was like "YAY! Finally!"

Though their change from COTBP to AWE was a bit too much and obvious I really enjoyed seeing them grow...both themselves AND thei rrelationship.

They did a lot to get to eachother...and even after that they had to wait for 10 years!! SO here's some Willabeth goodness: (when he asks her to marry him as you know.) BTW which kiss did you like better on the beach pr on the pearl?

The pearl... I love the way they get married. I want to get married on a old ship!!!

THAT I agree with...not in the rain though but I think it's so romantic to get married at sea!! On an old...mystical...legendary ship.

Elizabeth and Will were great in that scene but Barbossa totally dominated it.

But I love the kiss on the beach just a tad more...

I love the way they put their foreheads together on the beach... something about it is just soo romantic. Hey, did any of u see the thing in RI with the big ships? There was a meeting of all these huge ships, and they let you go on them. They were really old, like from the 1700's. They even had a pirates ship!! I couldn't go, but my friend went and one other person I know went. they said it was awesome. If u went, and took pictures, post some!!

I like the ending of awe, but it's sort of driving me insane... what did Elizabeth do stranded alone on an island for 10 years, i mean yeah she had the little boy, but still there's a huge lack of intellectuel conversation. What could they have done? What if the pirate lords needed to meet again? Can she leave the island, because it's not like she HAS to stay in the same place, she just needs to be there when Will gets back? Did she have any friends? Is she still pirate king? And lastly who's incharge of HMS in port royal? hmm... so many questions, you could make another movie out of it
