This is my first time on a Willabeth forum. I'm a Sparrabether trying to understand Willabethers <treads very carefully...>
Maybe this has been said before but has the age of Jack Sparrow anything to do with why Liz and Jack can't have a relationship? Is it a discomforting thought to see an older man with a younger woman on screen?

Jack doesn't look all that old. 😉
He doesn't look like he's even 40. More like his early to mid 30's. Which would be about a 10 year difference. But during that time, people with 20 year differences were married. Even if he's older, Jack and Elizabeth still have amazing chemistry. Besides, age is just a number.
Yes they can be that age.At that time it wasn't a rare thing that agirl married a man who is 20 years older than her.Norrington was much older than her and he wanted to marry her.Jack must be about 15 years older than Elizabeth. You know age doesn't really matter when it comes to love. They are both grown up adults.

But, HELLO! they didn't love each other! And who said anything about Jack being a grown up?
We were not saying they loved each other. We were saying that it was possible for two people with age differences to love each other.
And whether you like Jack or not, he is an adult, or "grown up." Its not an opinion, its a fact.
