What is a Saint?

I never said that Catholics and Orthodox individuals were not sanctified. I simply maintain that I am a saint.

Sanctification is the work of the Holy Spirit.

Why do you persist in referring to Catholics as Christians? Christians are Christians and Catholics are Catholics.

Catholics are Christians. You are uneducated.

Then why are they called Catholics?

Catholics are not Christians.

Still don't believe me? Here are some differences between us Christians and Catholics (here is what Catholics believe and practice):

http://www.born-again-christian.info/catholics.htm

Hopefully, those links should help disabuse your mind of your ignorance (i.e. lack of knowledge not stupidity).

😉

A lot of those points are moot and not well researched.

Born again Christan's are protestant.

Protestants are evil, ergo they're going to Hell.

Sorry, JIA, but you're off to the dark depths of Hell, enjoy!

by that logic.

christians are christians
catholics are catholics
protestants and protestands
born agains are born agains
mormons are mormons
{add christian in front of all these nouns and they ALL become sects of christianity}

The three major branches of Christianity are Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant. While all three branches consider themselves “Christians,” sharing many basic beliefs, there are still differences between them. Individuals and churches within each denomination often hold dissimilar beliefs.

Yah, it's called heterodoxy and/or heresy. It depends on what theology the disagreeance is on.

Usually, however, something which is heterodox is regarded as a minor deviation from the norm and not quite bad enough to merit the label heresy.

Basically, yes. It also qualifies on issues that aren't considered necessary to salvation.

1) Catholics were the first Christians

2) Catholics worship and beleive in Christ

3) You are the LAST person who can rightfully lecture me on the topic of Ignorance

I only pray to St. Paul, St. John, St. George and St. Ringo. mullet

1) Apostles and early believers were not Catholics. Christians are not Catholics and Catholics are not Christians.

2) They also deify Mary, the apostles, and other early believers (this is idol worship), and have created statues to them, ask for their help in prayer, and pray to them in general (which is forbidden by God because and called necromancy).

3) You are ignorant of the Truth of the Bible because you lack knowledge.

JIA, a Christian is :
a person who believes in Jesus Christ; adherent of Christianity.

Therefore, Catholics, yes, are Christians. They believe in Jesus. They practice the sacraments - communion and baptism.

This is the way I remember it from my rusty history - someone please correct me if I'm wrong -- Protestantism (of which Evangelical Christianity is a part of) didn't even come into being until Martin Luther did his whole 99 tracts thing... I assume you know about that? Catholicism and Eastern Orthodox Christianity where what was there before. Sorry... but that's history. And as much as you might like to change history so that it conveniently fits in with your "message," history usually isn't so obliging.

And you've no right to call anyone ignorant. You have no idea what they might have read or experienced. That's the beauty of the internet, JIA. For all we know, Goddess Kali might be reading the bible in between posting to you. He's shared that he used to be a Christian, that he tried to be straight... but you didn't listen to that because it went against your stereotypical image of him.

If anything, JIA, you are ignorant about Life in all its complexities - the complexities that God created for us to enjoy and ponder. Maybe you should spend less time condemning us all and more time thinking and enjoying the world for what it is.

Do you like sports siriuswriter? Why do you keep running from a simply question?

😄

Why don't you just get to what you're trying to say, JIA?

Furthermore, why should I answer a silly question like "Do you like sports?" when you've just ignored an enitre post of mine which I've just put a lot of thought into?

This is like the fourth time that I have asked you this simple question.

It seems to not have much relevance to the subject.

And the nth time you have not responded to a well thought out post of mine. I have explained why I'm not answering the question. Why can't you get over that? Why can't you simply understand that I'm not going to fall for this "battle strategy?"

I don't do "games," I do meaningful discussion.
