Saints were invented to promote a standard by which other people should live.
I do not thnk it is such a bad idea for Christianity to have models to follow, besides Christ. Models of courage, wisdom, love, etc.
St. Francis of Assissi was excellent for example.
He was like the French Buddha in my opinion 👆

Although the Catholic Church did not make up the word saint, they simply invented the doctrine of sainthood that teaches that only certain people are saints. This contradicts the teaching of the Bible which states that all believers in Christ are holy ones (i.e. saints).
