with a large fan base gta fans are a debate has always plaged fans saying s.a or 3 is better. if it came down to a knock out drag out brawl/shootout who would win?

San Andreas is a better game, Tony would get killed by CJ.

San Andreas may be a better game but Tony is ruthless. My money's on him.

Tony Cipriani is the main guy from GTA Liberty City Stories, while the guy you play as in GTA3 is indeed called Claude (The Mute)

I beleive that CJ would beat both of them though... Better fighting skills, better weapons, and better vehicles.

Perhaps, but in this case, what else are you going to base it on?

CJ simply has more options than Toni or Claude in terms of what he can do and what he has access to.

Based on what?

CJ has the better weapons, the better fighting skills and the better vehicular advantage...

That is against any other GTA game against it really, the only ones that come close are Vice City and Vice City Stories, and even then only because it's the only other set of games in the series that has access to air vehicles that have weapons, let alone air vehicles at all.

in terms of pure gun and fist capabilities, CJ craps over everyone else. Simply because he can learn more stuff and has access to a bigger more exotic weapons list.

it doesn't matter about Game Advancements, since if that where the only deciding factor, then this debate would be so completley pointless...
