after watching about 4 of the toons so far I got to say that so far I am pleasantly surprised and delighted with this show at the moment.I intitally avoided watching it for a while because I STILL cringe at the way they have drawn gwen stacy.thats the one HUGE negative I have about this show is the way they have made her into looking like a nerd AND being a nerd.and I dont like it that harry osborn is the goblin instead of Norman.but besides that,I pretty much like everything else I have seen about the show.great to see that mary jane is just peters FRIEND at least for the moment now instead of a serious love interest.I never liked that when they got married,that was the ultimate sin of the comics,that and gwen dying.
The thing I like about this toon show is unlike the 90's toon,they are featuring goblin in it much more often,maybe since Norman found out what caused harry to become the goblin harry wont be him anymore and Norman will later and it will take peter a long time to find that out.hope so.goblin only made like a couple appearances in the 90's toon,should have been in many more.so glad to see they are doing that this time.
But more importantly,the thing I really like about this show is they are showing peters social life like he had in the comics.that always bothered me about the 90's toon was after the first season of that show,you never saw that again.hope they dont repeat those mistakes again cause its really nice to be seeing that on the screen.definetly an improvement over the 90's version.
and I knew I would like this one much better than the 90's toon as well since the thing that always bugged me about the 90's toon was almost all the episodes always revolved around the kingpin and his arch villains like the goblin and doc ock would be second rate lackeys working for him. 😠 that always sucked. I got to say I am pleasantly surprised,I did not think I could enjoy this show with gwen looking like a dork and being one as well-thats the ONE negative I have about the show,but the positives far outweigh the negatives unlike the 90's show so far,that I actually enjoy this show.
I only hope they can keep up the good work.remember after the first season of the 90's toon,it went downhill from there and the seasons got progressivley worse.
Still not the spidey cartoon show that I have always waited and dreamed for and I still havent gotten the kind of spidey cartoon I am still waiting for that measures up to the greatness of the 90's batman tv show,but still,better than any other spidey toon hollywood has been able to produce so far.Like i said,I just hope they can CONTINUE with the pleasant surprises they have given me so far. 🙂
yeah thats true.It was pretty silly how they just had him in there for that ONE 3 part episode to fight spidey and that was it."as an enemy anyways." why even use him in the first place if your just going to have him for that ONE episode? 🙄 Looks like we may get our wish that he will be in more in this show since he is making his first appearance in the show next week. 💃
again thats ASSUMING the writers and producers of THIS show dont follow the same moronic mistakes the 90's show did which totally forgot about venom after the first season and the episodes got really stupid after that.lets just cross our fingers on that that we get to see venom more often.green goblin is MY favorite villian of spideys so thats why I vented most of my disgust with that show for under utilizing goblin.But yeah your right,Venom should have been in many more as well and also was underutilized so maybe this week is the start of them redeeming the mistakes made in the 90's toon. 😉
well he is ALSO like goblin,the only one that knows his true identity so like Goblin,that makes him especially dangerous as well so that alone,should have made them use him more often in that show.Not to mention he is probably spideys most dangerous opponent there is.I would say definetely right up there with Goblin and Doc Ock if not the most dangerous,so yeah,he should be in there more often.
yeah which is pretty much what they did with the 90's show with Goblin and venom anyways.I think they are going to do that because someone posted in the beginning pages way back at the beginning of the thread that we were going to see villians like sandman,hydroman,the lizard,scorpion and kraven and as bad ash just posted,were going to get to see chameleon as well so looks like they WILL do that,so that will be nice. 💃 Like i said,so far they seem to redeeming themselves over the 90's toon at least not having classic villains of his like doc ock and gren goblin be second rate lackesy for kingpin.Thats why I am not at all upset about kingpin not being in this show cause we saw WAYYYYYYYY too much of him in the 90's toon.
