Odin and Surtur are only shadows of what they were. It's not like it's two Skyfather level guys fighting.

That was only a portion of Surter's spirit that was seen in the last issue.

So then the question still remains. How then would Surtur pose any threat if he returned to the "real" world or world of the living? Odin made it perfectly clear that if Surtur were to return to "our" world then the wheels of Ragnarok would surely begin to turn. If Surtur were as weak as some have claimed, this would not be the case.

I'm guessing he'd hide out and gather his strength without Odin kicking him back to step one every day.

True, both are not at the level that they once were. Basically, if either of them were to return to the land of the living then the Ragnarok cycle would begin again. I love the direction that Marvel is taking with Thor. They are taking the character in their own direction and not bound by the actual Norse Mythology.

Pretty much retells my life.

Through his history I have never really known thor to be that cold. Thor being described as black hearted started my suspicion. Not to mension back in those days you told odin "no" at your own discretion.

But I was taking it more as his dissent into his less humble side. Remember Thor did get banished to Earth for a reason later on.

I have to do a lot of climbing, so it's pretty much like sleeping with 20 american women.

True but phrases like "loki listened intently " meanwhile odins choking the life out of him also warranted suspicion.
