I had a comic book store closer to me, but they moved.

Thats a shame.

a spin off movie?

Why?

Because Venom not only deserves one anyway, it is also compensation for the way he was treated in SM3.

I still liked Spiderman 3, though.

In fact, I have the DVD.

I really liked how they portrayed the Sandman in Spider-Man 3, adding a tragic element to him was great, I was expecting him to be a thug like in the comics, but I think the movie portrayal was so much better.

Spider Man-type movies are expensive, with all the necessary VFX to make it work. Who wants to spend $150 million on a Spidey villain (who barely qualifies as an antihero?)
My problem with Venom, has always been that Eddie Brock has never been a character I can sympathize or empathize with, unlike other antiheroes - Magneto, Punisher, Black Adam come to mind. He only looks good compared to someone like Carnage.

The fact that he is deadly and funny in the comics, topped with a cool design and being insane makes him an interesting character IMO.

That description perfectly describes Deadpool, who I enjoy. He's insane in a funny way, while Brock is just...insane. With that freaky tongue & those teeth he likes to show off, I don't get why he has a heroic image to some.

The tongue and teeth came later in his design, the first Venom look just had a mouth.

Venom is better after he got his teeth and tongue.

Yeah, because he looks cooler and is more recognizable.

Of course.

Yes indeed

I hope he looks like that in the Spin-off.

He might, but I won't be at all surprised if they keep the same look from Spidey3.
