I havent really been paying attention either.
Whats the story behind the various corps? Powers of the various corps shown so far?
And current storyline? I know its basically Hal getting all the rings, but can someone fill me in on more than just that?
Also, what are Kyle/Guy and that group currently up to?

Blue Lanterns represent Hope. Their rings are powerful, but require the presence of will (a gl ring) to work. in return, though, they power up a Gl ring to an insane degree.
You know what Yellow/Fear is, i assume.
Red is Rage. When receiving this ring, your body is sort of hollowed out, as it seems anger is the only fuel needed, or something. Red Lanterns tend to spit a red liquid that can burn through GL shields and render the rings useless. they seem to be the polar opposites of the Blue Corps, and share the kind of relationship with them that yellow does with green.
Orange/Greed hasn't really been elaborated on as yet, so nothing much as yet.
Indigo is Compassion, but no word yet.
Violet is Love. their mission seems to be preserving love at all costs. they do this by converting women of different worlds to their cause, including members of the Sinestro Corps.
John is around, not doing much, but is supposedly about to meet up with Violet Lantern Fatality and team up.
Kyle is banging Soranik Natu, and painting a mural.
Guy isn't up to much. he's on Oa with Kyle...

YAY I think we're right!!!! Geoff John's was asked about a White Lantern in Blackest Night and he sheepishly said no comment, so I'm sure it'll be towards the end.

As for Black Lanterns, Aquaman, Superman Earth 2 and Martian Manhunter are confirmed through solits and interviews and promo images. Although general consensus is that there may be a Bruce Wayne Black Lantern and Connor Kent Black Lantern.
i really don't see hal dying. john hasn't been around enough, so it wouldnt have that x factor that would be required. kyle? eh, i don't think johns wants him dead.
i can see guy being the one though. possibly the most epic death ever recorded in comic book history too.
A white lantern makes sense. for every corps, there is an opposite.
Willpower > Fear
Hope > Rage
Compassion > Avarice.
It makes sense that there would be a "life" corps to balance things out...

So during this entire event, with corps popping out of the wordworks the honor guard is just......sitting around?
I heard the Rage lantern has a connection to Sinestro?
And what is the Orange Lanterns story with the Vega system and the GLs?

the honour guard recently went to the Zamaron Planet. Kyle was part of the team that fought Kryb recently.
They're based on Oa, but they're still getting around.
Atrocitus is after Sinestro's daughter.
he orange lantern stuff is a bit sketchy atm, but from what i know, larfleeze (the orange lantern) made a deal with the guardians to stay out of vega many years ago...
