With all their bitching, it wouldn't last a day.

I could see them starting the hope corps. Or whatever.

All I know is these 'Red Lanterns' might be trouble, according to notes from Rip Hunter...

I already posted that. A very long time ago.

🙂.

The Red Lanterns will be involved in GL #25

Did you?

Ahh well,
I wasn't going to skim through sixty some-odd pages to avoid a duplicate scan. 😛

Indeed.

Any idea to what extent? The rumor was originally that they'd simply debut. It was brought up in an interview, and they said that we'd see Red Lanterns...

But not necessarily that they'd play a (big?) part in the war.

It would be nice if the Manhunters created their own Corps and were the Red Lanterns.

I think it's part of the 11 page epilogue that Van Sciver is drawing. A lead in to the next Corps War.

I've heard the consideration of it being the Controllers, or the Dominators.

Wait...next corps war? 😕

You mean the next part, right?

Yea, i think the next and last part of the Corps war is "The Blackest Night".

I thought so, too....

so since a "superman" basically got not only a power ring but the pleasure of being an avatar for a universal concept, does the possiblity exist that he might rent an apartment in jobber city, so that he can still look "human" to his peers and not too powerful? and you know, bang out the the great power great responsibilty speech?

Why would he do that? He doesn't need to 'blend' in...

well thats what superman does.. for some weird ass reason he needs to feel accpeted as "one of us" to validate his existence

But Sodam Yat is a sector lantern. He isn't human...

Elsewhere in the universe, Lanterns are well known as the galactic police force.

It's only here on Earth that they're considered 'super heroes.' And only because humans are kinda ignorant like that.

i didnt mean human in the strictest sense. i meant the way how superman let insane assholes like dr polaris get off a full sentence about how he was gonna use hi electromagentic powers to red shift the yellow solar rays that are permeating his body so that he can be beathed with red sun energy and stands there and let him do it. while yat would have taken a more direct approach and took his head off. kyle as classic Ion was cool with the idea then he gave it up cuz he basically thought he was too powerful..though without this act the corps could have never been rebuilt.

what im driving at is, now that yat is Ion i dont want to see him just forming battering rams and punching holes in space ships, and making giant pvc pipes to redirect ppl's energies like the second incarnation of kyle was doing..he's essentially kyptonian and he has a universal power, i dont want to see anyone getting a fair shot at him is all im saying

Ohhh..

I see, I thought you meant 'secret identity' and what not.

Well, Yat's a Soldier, first and foremost. I could see him just skipping all the "bullshit" and going for the kill.

sorry for the late reply...

My apologies, pr, but whether you like the decision to use lethal force or not; the writers made it very clear that it was an entirely necessary evil.

i know they did, but there were a fair few people who had that 'wtf, i didnt sign up for this shit' look on their faces... not everyone agrees with the guardians... is all i was saying...

You think they would have won at Mogo? You know better than Kilowog? Wog straight up tells the lanterns - "Look, we're about to die, just don't die easy." He knew that the war was over, right then and right there. He knew the outcome had already been decided - right up until his lovely little piece of jewelry informed him of the new rule of Oa.

aragorn said the same thing at the black gate... its a hero thing... 'we're gonna die, so lets take these f*ckers with us' sort of thing... its a rallying call... even with lethal force, they might have lost the fight imo...

He knew good and well, just as many of the other lanterns did, that without lethal force, Mogo would have been gone. The forces that were protecting Mogo would have been gone. There would be ever-more-dwindling numbers, and the Sinestro corps would have pretty much washed over what was left - their numbers WEREN'T dwindling.

i think thats more down to the inexperience of some of the lanterns than anything... they'd been trained to be defensive, to protect... they werent used to waging a massive bloody war (bar a few of them)

the sinestro corps were out for blood... plenty of the trained gl's were trained to fight without lethal force, just like they had done for years...

yes it gave them a better chance, but i dont agree that it was absolutely neccessary in the grand scheme of things... i cant see them keeping it on after the war...

I dont see a problem with so many of the Lanterns using lethal force. Many of the main Lanterns we see, are fierce fighters or warriors anyways. Of all the GLC members we actually see, there arent many that are pacifist like. They are selected because they have the ability to overcome great fear. Not because they want to be super-pacifists. John with army experiece, Isamot and Vath both coming straight from war, and even some of the older and lost Lanterns are pure warriors. I think its was a good idead to allow that.

i thought john was an architect...
