I've been collecting the series from the start, pretty good, and this issue was no different.

I've always considered one of the markers of a good series is that even when you get into crossovers that don't have much to do with your title, you still do well with that.. and yeah, Blue Beetle managed to advance the plot, give you a new insight to an important supporting character, give you a good, thought out fight from the protagonist, and a new characterization of the main villains. I mean, having a Superman title tie into the Sinestro Corp's War is easy- just a big fight with Hank Henshaw or Superboy Prime would be easy. But Blue Beetle really shouldn't be all that involved with it, and when he was, it still worked, tying the new Beetle into the greater DC Universe while still just being spot on for the series.

wait... how come Sodom Yat didn't immediatly... you know... start dying when he came to Earth.

There's too much lead in Earth's atmosphere for Daxamites- Look at Mon-El/Valor/any other Daxamite that has been to earth. They pretty much immediately start to die. That's why Superman put Mon-El in the Phantom Zone.

I mean, I guess maybe the GL ring is protecting him from that, but I've really never seen the ring react immediately to things that aren't normally threatening... IE, have you ever seen Hal Jordan automatically protect from a poisen gas or something. No, because that's never happened.

I mean, I'm fine with DC just dropping that angle of the Daxamites, but I would kind of like some explanation.

Meh, maybe he is - making it that much more impressive. 😛.

Am i the only one who thinks yat is gonna have a spectacular fall at some point during all this?

Yes, he's ion, yes, he's powerful, but it seems to me johns has been setting it up that the guardians were going to go and basically make the wrong decisions all round, and it would cost the corps...

not that giving yat the ion power is wrong or anything, i mean he's probably the most likely candidate as it is...

and also, i think prime's performance against the heroes, considering how weakened he was, shows him to be above yat ion at this point...

i mean, surely you dont just suddenly become mr uber once you're ion, doesnt experience play a part in the whole thing?

glc 17/prime one shot were excellent imo, and it was nice to see power girl get a bit of recognition...

Yat'll definetly fall from grace.

You could tell by the way he reacted to the whole "Lethal Force Enabled" thing, no real hero reacts like that, sooner or later he'll turn evil or get corrupted or whatever.

Maybe.

The whole "Guardians making poor decisions" could certainly come to fruition. However, we still see Yat on the cover of the Ion special and the like - so I don't think he'll fall too soon.

alot of gl's (more than i even thought) seemed incredibly comfortable using lethal force... i know there's the 'its us or them' argument, and sometimes it can be justified, but seriously, alot of them seemed to take alot of pleasure in the whole thing...

even saalak in glc 16 was pretty hardcore...

probably not, but i don't see him spanking the anti monitor anytime soon... 😛

The only problem with Yat right now is he is being rushed.

They could have given him a 12 issue comic. Then have him become Ion.

But no after about 6 appearances hes Ion.

Hopefully he loses. Stops being Ion and continues his training until hes ready in the FANS eyes.

Here's to hoping he gets a twelve issue mini anyways. 👆.

😛.

I was thinking the same thing. Even Kilowog, who always struck me as some repressed monster to some degree, displayed restraint when it came to lethal force, but most Lanterns are just lopping off Sinestro Corps members heads.

Although, I can see why this would certainly shift the tide of battle (not that I agree with it at all) but if the GL corps can hold their own with the sinestro corps before lethal force was enabled, now they should be spanking them ✅

They WERE spanking them. A lot of the corps is composed of newbies, but there are a good deal of veterans. The ENTIRE sinestro corps is composed of wet behind the ears rookies.

As far as just lopping their heads off....the Lantern corps was inches from obliteration, and they were watching all their friends and compatriots die around them. Seems like a reasonable response to me.

i just hope it isnt this lethal force thing that ends up winning them the war...

Assuming they win...it already is one of the deciding factors of the war.

If it weren't for lethal force, they would have been ****ed back at Mogo.

one of the deciding factors, yes, i agree, but THE deciding factor? I hope not, i really don't...

and i'm not sure they were in that much trouble... would destroying ranx have been considered by the ring as killing?

Meh, as a Christian who likes to see some degree of Moral fortitude in what I read, I would agree with you, but then there's the part of me that likes GL comics and he likes watching heads explode.

Personally I think ti will be Hal, Kyle, John and Guy who save the day, but judging from the solits I don't think the Sinestro crops will be gone for a long time. Later solits of GL corps show Mongul getting a yellow ring ✅

the sinestro corps could actually imo become a long term enemy for the gl corps... i mean, once the likes of prime, am and henshaw are dealt with, you just have an anti gl corps... they could be around for years imo...

But it's impossible to ignore the fact that it was the turning point of the war.

What else would be a more deciding factor?

Taking out the Antimonitor? Sinestro?

Never would have had the chance had they all died back at mogo.

Yeah, they are a pretty cool antithesis of the GL corps. Personally, after this I wouldn't mind seeing a wider colour spectrum of corps ✅

Umm, the guy in your sig could be a bigger deciding factor ✅

Red - Hate
Orange - Avarice
Yellow - Fear
Green - Willpower
Blue - Hope
Indigo - Sympathy
Violet - Love

Or something like that. 🙂.
