I think whats interesting, is we are all to happy for America to help us out in the Wars (Though they didnt half take advantage.) but when they want help, we're very reluctant to give it.
Difference here being of course that the US isn't being invaded.
The UN was quick to judge the attacks from 9/11 and NATO even declared them acts of war. Meaning very simply that from that moment on NATO as a whole was at war with Afghanistan whose government was held responsible. That's about the best you can do.

The Odd thing is the US is the strongest country financially and militarily in the world but has a tendency to get their arse kicked in most wars it takes part in. Especially against much weaker nations. Vietnam, Korea, Somalia and now in Iraq and possibly Afghanistan if the tlaliban get enough backing and are as resilient as when they fought the Russians.
They HELPED win the war against Germany in a big way, but long after it had started. And managed to beat Japan by Nuking the place with German technology.

Not even comparable.
Pearl Harbor: A legitimate (official and recognized) military force attacking enemy soldiers at a military base.
9/11: Gangsters, not soldiers, infiltrating their percieved enemy's society and hijacking planes full of civillians, and then crashing them into civilian structures in the middle of a city.

When a superior conventional force conquers a weaker opponent, they have to resort to guerilla tactics, and other tactics that aren't face to face.
Also, American soldiers are held back by a lot of restricting bullshit rules. My dad used to tell me that when he was in Vietnam there was a standing order that you couldn't shoot into, or pursue enemy soldiers across the Cambodian or Laotian borders. So in other words, a VC could kill your buddy right before your eyes and if he managed to make it to Laos, you couldn't do anything about it. That's bullshit, que no?

i don't hate americans, i simply hate your government and how it's run and the fact that people get away with plagerism and that you are the world's greatest contributer to global warming and some of you call yourselves christian and refuse to believe global warming is happening and don't recycle and you drive on the wrong side of the road and you started the war on terrorism.
And to join in the war topic, the troops that go to Iraq and Afgahnistan have been training for years, they technically had a choice way back when they were 17. If you join the army you will be required to fight and die for your country, so if they die I DO HAVE SYMPATHY but the typical Iraqi had no choice what so ever, it wasn't their fault their country was lead by a dictator, I prepared to bet more Iraqi's have died than, Brits, Americans, Danes and where-ever-else troops put together.

Different with some small similarities, but again NATO declared them acts of war and thus justified the war in Afghanistan.
The war in Iraq is something completely different and the two should not be seen as one thing they aren't. One is a justified war after being attacked first, and the other is a war that makes no sense.

I have never been able to correlate how Christianity and global warming have anything even remotely to do with each other. This has made about as much sense to me as someone babbling on that Christians like squash and Non-Christians like Broccoli.
And it's pretty damn annoying (both sides of this argument). Hopefully this is just a buzz concept that will go away in a few years. Then, maybe, people will get up in a tizzy about the squash and broccoli.
