Is it a fad in Britain to hate Americans?

LA is the same.

NYC is better although it takes you a while to find somewhere, have to do a little research, test the waters et cetera. Chinese was good after trying to find somewhere decent. Big Wang Restaraunt was worth seeing simply for the name. Austin is the same, although less eating out for students, more bumming around.

Yeah, there's an abundance of Chinese food, or so it seems. I did find some really nice Mexican restaurants though.

To speak of NYC, i had the best Chinese of my life there, yes I mean the food.

That help?

nyc is overrated. sure you throw thousands of restaurants in one city, there's bound to be a few winners

At least it's not bland. Like a certain country.
Lesotho? Yeah, I tried some of their cuisine and it was rather... bland.

Everyone loves a bit of cheeky asian now and again.

With the Mexican's I've always been put off by the rather forbiding looking old mexican woman with the large eyebrows. Scary. Like another member of the transaction.

I'm also noticing that most of the yanks have cleared off the thread. Do they like the attention?

There are a hell of a lot of shit restaurants there too.

I think one of my biggest peeves with America, is the diners; i can't bloody stand them.

most americans are sick to death of the hypocrisy surrounding the accusations. however food is a nice topic, so im still here.

Sometimes you gotta leave the Indian alone. Too many vindaloo's. I missed a good roast occasionally.

diners are great for breakfast and a late night stop for coffee and a bagel. burgers are usually ok. but everthing else sucks...and if you order the fish, you have far greater balls than i.

Diner's are a nice change from the solemn events of the British breakfast table, but after a while, I can't eat that much food. I prefer feeling half starved.

And what the hell is with the maple syrup on the bacon people? it's crazy. Spoiling the bacon.

Its just that I know some people of sri lankan decent that live in the area. So saying you couldn't find hindi/indian food in the area just seemed really.. weird to me for some reason.

I do agree with the breakfasts, to some extent, but you cannot, you simply cannot beat a full English. I'm not really a bagel fan and I'm not a coffee drinker, I'll occasionally have tea, which particularly bemused diner workers in Miami.

Didn't do much adventuring on that particular trip, have not been back since. All I saw was fast food. I'll take your word for it though.

Yes I agree, keep sweeteners away from the bacon, it's alike to putting sugar on it. I've also noticed that it's always streaky bacon, everyone knows back bacon's the hot shit.

Or when the bars close and you and all your plastered friends are starving, diners are your best friend.

I know it's going to sound like I'm criticising more things about the US again, technically I am but that is not the point, but you lot burn the coffee bean! That's culinary blasphemy that!

I will praise the quick delivery of the old Starbucks though, as burnt and milky as it is, they really are quite efficient. Don't even wanna think of the cockroaches though.

Bacon people? you mean the Canadians?

Course that might just be from me thinking of one of my Canadian friends that likes to use pigs in his avatars.

I will give it to streaky bacon on the looks department, looks darn colourful which it isn't burnt to crisp. But a nice bacon sarnie filled with nicely cooked rashers of back bacon. That ain't just a bacon sarnie. That's like...an M&S bacon sarnie.

EDIT: And no, sorry was referring to the awful mistake I've seen made in the Diners, as the yank slowly but confidently lifts up the jug of maple syrup and tips it, like molten lava over the glorious piece of bacon.

Fast food is everywhere. So you'll see alot of it. I'm pretty good at finding places, like this thai restraunt I need to visit one of these days near here.

Yeah, streaky bacon tricks me, I think it's going to be lush when I look at it, but all I get is a mouthful of disappointment and shame.

My friend, your talks of sarnies are making me increasingly hungry, I may just have check the fridge for bacon.
