<<i've been out and about, sorry...>>
Kairi ran out into the chill night air, the streets empty, save for a few beggars and such. She ran out to the main channels and made for the gates of the town, hoping someone might have seen Champion run by. Her head still throbbing, she drew her sword, keeping it at the ready in case anyone should cause her any more trouble.
Kairi shook her head. "I'm... not sure, really... See... I woke up after hearing a noise, and I wandered through the building. When I found the source of the noise, it was some bandit or something, so I did all I could think to do... I yelled for you to run. My head hurts, and my sight's a little dim right now, but other than that, I think I'll be okay... What about you, Champ? You holdin' up alright?"
Basil walked in the woods with his head held high. He must have been proud of something. He climbed up a treet and looked down to examine the ground. In a matter of minutes two humans came by. They didn't know that Basil was in the tree watching them.
He sensed that they were normal beings and not like himself.
Kairi forces a smile and nods. "I know. I'll go pilfer some in a bit." She stands, stretching. "What a long strange trip it has been for the two of us. The lap of luxury straight into the pits of poverty." She laughed, though she was unsure why. She was far from jovial in her mood, and life itself seemed to be going to hell for the both of them. "Somehow, though... We'll make it through." She smiled.
Kairi smiled and nodded. "Cool. Then let's head out and get this reinstatement of your power underway, shall we?" She turned, pausing only momentarily to pick up her weapons before leading the way out into the streets. As she reached the door, she turned back toward the stairs, noticing Champion still atop the flight. "C'mon, let's go!" She turned and opened the door, finding a spear pointed directly at her. "Er... Back out the window, perhaps, then, Champion!" She ran back up the stairs, heading for the window to try an escape through there.
