Respect The Authority

Some nice Engineer feats.

Uses nanotechnology in her body to grow giant to fight a giant monster on equal ground. Also creates some nanotech constructs to save Midnighter from being eaten by said monster.

And now to Hawksmoor. Apparently he has learned every major language in the world (and even not major but the ones that are spoken in the citites) via urbanopathy. He demonstrates that by understanding an exotic language perfectly well.

It's unknown whether the ability to insta-learn things via urbanopathy is limited only to languages or he can pick up other skills that way.

Engineer pwns a Hulk ripoff in quite a funny way. Apparently she doesn't need to breathe.

Jack renovates St.Petersburg to create a tidal wave in attempt to extinguish Winter

Good news. I'm planning another large-scale update to this thread.

My collection is pretty well comprehensive by now, though there's a few arcs that I missed on the last update, and a lot of their newer stuff hasn't been added (Authority Prime, the non-Cpt-Atom Armageddon stuff, MNer's solo series, etc.).

The plan is to wait until the upcoming Dreamwar crossover with DC in a couple months (which will be canon, btw, since it's the same company/multiverse) then add everything in at once. Charlotte will be helping me a little bit, and she's already been very helpful with additions to the thread (mainly Jack, but others too).

All said, it's looking to be around 100 new scans, give or take, to go with the 300 or so that are already posted.

What about Jacks new solo run, are you going to add from that also?

Of course. I'm very complete when it comes to Authority. The few series I mentioned were just examples.

😉

He had good showings in his first issue, even used an entire town construct to fight. So I guess it is in character after all eh Digi? 😖hifty:

He did that in Authority Prime 6, as well.

Making it three times, now?

BTW, Digi, I've got that issue (at least scans of it) on my cpu along with the last one of Authority Prime. In fact, I haven't heard that that mini was launched- shame for such a Hawksmoor expert.
In fact, in Russia and Belarus when it comes to Wildstorm comics (Marvel ones and some DC ones are published and translated in Russia) you have to download them from DC++- getting'em in paper is inconvinient in my country.

BTW, Authority Prime also kind of busted another Hawksmoor myth- supporting the scans from Planetary\Authority crossover and some other known facts related to him in pseudourban\non-urban environment. 15 minutes deadline exsists only in complete wilderness, close to settlements\in non urban sttlements the only thing that disappears along with urbanopathy is his healing factor (which is at Hulk\"boosted" Wolverine level or even better in big cities). There's going to be an analysis on that in mythbuster thread soon.

And as for feats I've posted- I posted a few facts along with feats (like the one of being able to speak almost any language in the world due to urbanopathy; I wonder whather he can learn other things rather than languages that way).
Also Jack can actually INCREASE his density- nice🙂 And the construct feat and tidal wave one are repeated in his mini.

This was a good week for Jack.

Yes, pretty much. And I spell really bad in the morning- at least 3 spelling\lexical mistakes in one post.
But when the authors of Jack mini wanted to show off Jack's "every language of the world" thing, they showed that their Russian sucks ass compared even to my "sleepy" English. The last Jack's words in dialogue with a Kiev dweller should have sounded like "nyet slozhnostey"- no difficulties (or at least that's what I think since what the writer has Jack to say isn't actual Russian or Ukrainian language, and it's almost as undechypherable for me as Perun's words in that issue to Angie).
Also "he'll be fine" is "awn boojet v por'yadke" (keeping up with their transcription, though it makes second word sound a bit Polish- but it's normal since it happens in the Ukraine). Jack said "he'll be exact"- the word "totchn" means "exact". The conclusion- Jack maybe knows Russian (should know it due to powerset and the intention of writer), but the author of the mini doesn't.

Got some weird news- and bad ones for Jack.

Spoiler:
Since the new Armageddon has officially started, apparently Earth cities are going to become "comatose", cutting Jack's urbanopathy off and leaving poor guy only with superhuman physical stats (strength-durability-agility) turning him into your regular boring brick who would at best be at mid-high meta level.

So his miniseries are pretty much the endsong of Jack we all know and love.

I only have to hope that evil Emma Frost in the end of Secret Invasion #1 is a Scrull fake, and some spoilers I've heard about KOF XII isn't going to turn out to be true....It would be bad news having so many of my favourite characters "shitified".

Thanks God it's going to be only temporary downgrade, as turned out when I studied sources more precisely.

Was it established as Cthulu? I thought they called him and Elder God or somesuch.

Though I'm not a huge fan of how they jobbed to storm watch. Gettin Jenny/Doctor out of the fight was a good start to make it believable, but they're still well beyond anything the storm watch team has done in theri history.

The storm watch team under Ellis was pretty uber, especially when Bendix was in charge. At one point or another they defeated a version of the Doctor, The Engineer, Apollo and Midnighter. I'm not sure about the current storm watch team, i only know that Battalion is the Weatherman again. When Sparks, Swift and Hawksmoore where ion storm watch they where a pretty competent team, in fact they where a lot more highly regarded than the Wildcats team written by Alan Moore no less.

I don't know, I only think that Angie jobbing to some Banshee ripoff was awful.

Enough Jack-wanking for now Char. We'll save it for the update.

😛

As for the SW/Authority fight, I'm a fan of Stormwatch too (most of the Authority got their start there) and I thought it was written fairly well. Take Jenny and Doctor out of it (which they did), and SW had the numbers advantage (7 to 5) and a few fairly powerful people.

Also weird how whirly broke up Stormwatch into two lower case words in my quote.

OK, I'll stop with that. I've got a bit carried away, though, and maybe a litte bit too emotional over the language thing- which is a bit shameful, really.

Probably because it isn't Whirly. You people on here are funny and I do get told about these copies. I promised Ush I wouldn't come on here and as long as my name isn't taken in vain I won't. Although Digimark, you seem to do it more than most. It's like the Candyman.....

Which begs the question of how you'd know each instance your name is used unless you had been previously socking. Just because we don't ban right away depending on a few factors doesn't mean we're stupid.

In any case, quit spamming my thread.

😬
