Shame can't be a big surge here like there was back in the day.

We recently had a bunch of veterans a month or two ago. Talk about nostalgia. I had a bunch of feels.

I don't like the nostalgia.

I like pancakes! NOTICE ME PHOENIX SENPAI!

You're more of a "live-in-the-present" kind of girl, Phoenix?

You, Kin and everyone's sister gets all excited and shouts out "Oh hey it's _______, the old gang is back!" and then talk about the good times. What's the point? They left so right off the bad I can't have a very high opinion of them. Since I've been here for several years, if I don't know them then they haven't been around for a very long time. It's just irritating being told about the good ol' days when we're trying to have Good days as we speak. It might raise morale for those who were here but for those who are here it just takes a step back to seeing how people abandoned their terms. Just very depressing for me personally.

Well a lot of the old people were good friends with some of us, or had some rps that we remember very well or that still hold to some standard. people go separate ways, and games end, but if we had fun then it was worth it and worth remembering. This place was the first place I ever roleplayed, so of course I'm going to have fund memories of the people I met.

I don't want this to come off as me trying to attack you or anything like that, but a lot of those people were around a lot longer than the few of us still here and hanging with each other. You say its depressing for you when some of us reminsce about the days of yore. Why? You weren't here for those days and you don't know the people we get excited to see.

I don't discredit anything we've all accomplished in the here-and-now when someone from back in the day pops in because why would I? Its just nice to hear from someone you haven't heard from in quite some time. When you left KMC and recently returned, I was very excited because I remember when you first showed up in theses parts over here and joined our little community.

So, if you have an issue with us reminiscing about the old days and old people, I don't know what can be done about that. It would be disrespectful (for a lack of better words) to just forget about everyone that came before you. A lot of us were here YEARS before others showed up and we all have gotten older and have things going on in our lives that prevent us from being here anymore. You can't just overlook that.

If I personally ever made you feel left out or anything, I apologize. It is never my intent to make someone feel that way 🙁 But I won't apologize for remembering the "friends" I've made here before any newer people showed up. I grateful for everyone here now because I love hanging out here and RPing with you all. But I also loved it back in the day.

Could you try to see it that way? You don't have to agree or anything but thems the breaks. At least concerning what you said.

i second that.

i like literally grew up on these forums :/
i went from being the most confused newb, to being one of the most confusing noobs ever to write here, i did a lot with lots of different people, none of whom were still around several years ago.
it was fast paced, pushed the edge of dsl at the time, i do remember having to check page 2 after a day.

however of course i want you all here making this place awesome sauce, i just can't fit it in anymore, not often enough in a fair manner to you, mostly anyway.

idk i've been thinking about popping in but i always say that and never end up doing anything, but also like i said i was used to fast paced, also i much, much prefer the quality of the writing today over the quality of yesteryears

correction: i mostly prefer the writing, everybody from what i remember produced a higher overall standard and quantity but everybody was just learning mostly then...oh god damn my writing was terrible, it hurts to read over most of it now, but it was very, very fun at the time

My point behind it is that when these people show up from "back in the day", people get excited and reminisce about the past. But to me it's depressing because none of those people ever actually stick around or specifically participate in any RP's. They come back and it's voiced like their return is going to bring a sweep of more activity and new ideas to the site, which I would greatly encourage -- but they never do. Right now, the only people active in any RP are O, Xanatos, Starry, GCS, Sacred and me. While Lek is talking about how they want a new RP, hasn't really confirmed any joining or creating of one. So to me this whole feeling of nostalgia just feels like a big distraction.

I'm not trying to start a war and honestly I'll just be quiet and let you guys enjoy it. The first post was just me stating my opinion and this was my reacting to three people disagreeing with me. It's a little upsetting that 3 people had to voice their opinions against me -.- while you guys say it wasn't an attack it definitely felt that way. But I think I can voice that more toward how ^ rarely is seen in the UHRP and seems to have posted just to comment on my comment. It's like when one of the trolls would show up who Never post just to jump in on an argument or "would-be argument".

Sighs, I'll just shut up about the whole thing because I already know someone's going to be on me for this post too. I hate not being able to voice my opinion without getting bit for it in some way, shape or form.

i think you heard an aggressive tone where i meant to be mocking myself and others 😛

did i tell you guys i got diagnosed with asperger's a year ago?

my wit is very dry or over excited and confusing.

edit: you weren't talking to me were you

second edit: the sex scandals i've seen on here alone could fill a soapie award winning day-time soap opera

third edit: just for funsies, the nostalgia for editing is so thick i just may asphyxiate

No, I don't think you're a troll. But the way you never appear here and came by to reply to my post felt a bit insulting. If you showed up on occasion for others reasons it would be different 😬

Spoiler:
It's like a certain unnamed Lurker.

....i'm compelled to feel like i'm said unnamed lurker or is this just a coincidence?

look, i've said it before it's alright to address me as the weasel war dance or The Great and Gloriously Mighty Ruler Formerly Known As The Big EH, or simply TGGMRFKATBE for short if that is too much

You're not.

alright, you're lucky this time that mis-comunication was cleared up so easily but never forget simple misleading statements such as those often get mistranslated from person to person and that is why america decided to drop actually drop a nuke on japan.

peace out.

I definitely get where you're coming from, Phoenix. When people from yonder-year show up, people of today turn into groupies in a way. Am I right?

And while you respond to that, I will say that people are going to respond to you. Even if it is just voicing an opinion. Because they tend to have a opinion about the opinion you voiced. But I agree with Eh - who, coincidentally, is one of those said people who was here since the dawn of time and later moved on - there was no aggressiveness in what I said. I also apologize if it came off that way. But like I said, people are going to respond to whatever you write. That's how it works. Plus, I just wanted to show you my side of it.

America dropped a nuke on Japan to secure that they were not afraid to take things to such a level to assert their dominance. Due to the advancement of other places around the world, the US often fears that it's going to be left behind thus it has to be the bully who beats the crap out of others to try and get across a point. Er.. This really isn't the thread to talk about the truth behind America though, lol.

EDIT: I would just like if when an old person shows up for whatever reason, they actually participate and don't just throw around a few "Ah.. I remember this place."

i'm like some sort of ancient being from the dawn of the known universe, just always there being worshipped by virgins since the beginning of ever :/

...ladies pm me later if you're interested ;P

i know i said peace out but i didn't actually get to close the page before seeing a response and was just compelled to attempt a humorous remark after being acknowledged

edit: i was referring to the mistranslated response to the ultimatum america delivered japan, the emperor said the japanese equivalent of "i haven't made a decision yet, more time is needed" this was translated over poorly to roughly "i refuse", it has little to do with america's ambitions or intentions and more to do with the inevitable complications that arise when communicating, that is the actual action that lead to the dropping of the bomb, if japan had surrendered when given the ultimatum then the war would have ended without the nukes. my point was when it came to the option being on the table, after a very long list of contributing factors, ranging from political to scientific, the bomb was going to be dropped based on that response and it was mistranslated. so i've been educated anyway

Oh, LORD, I see political talk. I'm ACTUALLY going to call it night because of that.

Goodnight, all.
