So the fundies set him off eh?

Well that helps the point I was making, ONE quote might make Dawkins look like a very open minded and not an anti-religious zealot but its only one quote, we can take one quote from any figure and taking out of context and truncated they way Bardock has done can make any image we want.

Well ok thats true until I see more debates and inteviews with him I wont make an opinion, but in all fairness I have seen some debates were he is really polite.

Seriously I just think fundies set him off, he seems to be ok with more open minded religous people

That's the thing, he's so well known, one quote you re-compiled won't do anything.

Just that I provided multiple examples. We have this quote. We have what he said in the video this thread is about. He even states it in his BBC Programme. So we have this guy who repeatedly states that he is open to the possibility just that he sees it as unlikely and when thinking about organized Religion even nearing impossible...and we have Alliance and you who paint him agaunst what he says as a fundamentalist. It is very, very odd.

Hitler stated over and over again that he was a Christian who believed in democracy...doesnt make it true.

I like the BBC

Hitler hated Democracy.

Exactly.

And so, where does this go...?

So you are saying he lies when he says that he is open to the possibility of a God?

That's kinda ridiculous, I mean, I am sure you know better what he believes, but come on, he might have some knowledge about it...

He was a bad man

Fascist evil guy

And he was Christian

How do you feel

Well this is the thing. From experience I know that fundies do actually lie. They will say to your face that they believe in such and such and they want to integrate but in reality what they really want to do is take over. Maybe this is the case with Dawkins.

I mean the BNP are a racist political party but if you hear some of things they say you can be decieved into thinking that they are not racist. They twist stuff around and lie but when you look closely you can see their true intentions.

Why are you ignoring my points.

I will call you a silly man.

If you read his work, you will see that he usually clarifies his belief. "I am open to the possibility of a God, but he doesn't exist so its not something I shall have to face."

I don't think so, he admits that he dislikes Religion and wants it gone. He also has good reasons for that. He even goes so far as to say he is an atheist because it seems to him so unlikely about the Religion's Gods. There is absolutely no reason in my opinion for him to lie in this interview.
Also, we talk about him as if he was just some random idiot...he's not. He is a very intelligent man.

The only good thing Hitler ever said.
