Because Hal Jordan just became all sorts of awesome as soon as he did that, sure.. he could of caged him up in some sort of cage construct or just flew off, but no.. he knocked the master martial artist off his feet with one blow, infront of everybody aswell.

It's alot more suprising to see Hal hit Batman than vice versa, because what the hell else is Batman really going to do? 😬.
