I think DC is doing a masterful job at final crisis build up. The sinestro corps, the countdown and tie ins, the ruining of magic by the spectre months ago, mxy being swiped by an unknown force, and TDONG all lead to a very exciting future. This is the first time in a long time the DC racks have been sold out in many titles. From Teen titans to JLA, To Superman Batman.

Yep.

Tis a new golden age.

agreed. you get this fantastic sense that all the stories are building up to something wonderful and epic. it's a great time to be a DC fan.... the buildup to Final Crisis is way, way more interesting than say... Identity Crisis and the OMAC project was as a buildup to Infinite Crisis.

I spit on the Omac project....

Loved DOV though.

Countdown is better than Identity Crisis and OMAC? 😆

He said the build-ups,not the series.

They were building up for Infinite Crisis since 1999.

Good stuff, at least some of it.

Are you reading the same issues as me? As far as I can tell the only thing awesome to come out of this final crisis is the Sinestro Corps war. Countdown Sucks, Amazon Attacks Sucked, TT is in another clone story, New gods is just meh since I haven't ready enough to tell what status its at yet. Its far from masterful, hell countdown is closer to mediocre.

I'm looking at the big picture. Amazons attacks makes perfect sense now that I'm looking at the big picture. It even redeamed WW from killing maxwell. It was more masterful than one can imagine in the full context. And I like countdown. It's reached it's turning point and I've been reading all of the stories i can get my hands on.

Whe are all subject to our opinions I just don't see it yet. Countdown is a chore to pick up for me. Frankly I don't see it even coming close to being as good as the Sinestro Corps war.

....and then there's Countdown.

🙁

Otherwise, agreed.

I consider all of that part of this same story. It's all been a build up, several years of stories.
That's just how cohesive DCU is.

Nothing can redeem Countdown. I don't care if Final Crisis turns out better than Watchmen. The build up, at least as far as Countdown is concerned, has been dreadful.

I'm just considering things like Death of the New Gods and the Corps War to be the Countdown to FC. More has happened in them, and Rip Hunter himself told us to ignore Countdown....speaking of which, #4 of Booster should be out soon. So there's enough good stuff that I'm happy, despite the idiocy that is CD.

A thread over in the vs. forum inspirred a rather interesting idea:

Adam Warlock is behind the deaths!

Who else can rip peoples' souls out?

Starlin's writing, I wouldn't rule it out entirely.

hysterical

It's Infinity Man.

The shadow,The Forever peoples involvement, not to mention Lightray saying Infinite before he died.

Well,it's the most substantiated theory.

Makes sense. Just one thing Martian. Even Infinity Man isn't powerful enough on his own to kill the Black Racer. Someone or something is backing him.
