Death of the New Gods

I think I will read it.

What's up with Starlin drawing this Hulk-sized Orion, being a head taller than Superman? When did that happen?

I thought Orion was always ridiculously tall? Like 6'6" to 7' depending on the artist?

Yeah, he should be bigger than Kal. The problem with Starlin's depiction are the Hulk like proportions.

When I saw him in the past, he and Supes were always the same size. That's why I don't get his current size.

Does DS have multiple personality disorder? He acts so differently in S/B Batman than he does in TDONG and even in countdown.

Wait, different writers write the same character differently?

No ****ing way!

It's larger than he's been depicted in the past, but I caught right away what Starlin was doing. He's drawing Orion with a build similar to his father's. I thought it was a nice touch.

(For that matter, Kalibak is quite the slab as well.)

Um don't be sarcastic. There should be consistancy. Superman acts the same in every current story. So does Batman.

No they don't.

You can tell the difference between one writer and another.

'Confidential' is basically the past. 🙂

Well considering orion is naturally 300 feet tall i dont think eing 6'7 - 7 feet is all that bad

No, I don't have a problem with it. If it's true, then it's a design detail that's been overlooked for decades now. Starlin comes to DC and says "Orion should be as big as Kalibak, don't you think? Darkseid's sons and all." And the DC editors slap their heads and say "Oh, Yeah!" Is that how it works?

he means that the reason orion took supes down so quickly is because its the past and supes was much weaker back then.

I know, hence why DS could so easily back hand him in the previous issue. As in New Gods they went toe to toe, but Orin didn't use his harness like he did in Confidential
