Honestly I'll never swallow Sora beating any version of Sephiroth. Call me the biggest Seph fanboy there is...it just ruins Sephiroth's myth for me. Nothing against KH. I know they are good games.
In fact, its limits have not even been shown as of yet. Without it Sora would not have been able to overcome his opponents, yet the thing is he could summon it at will.

Cutscene explaining how the Zohar is the ultimate energy device in Xenosaga's dimension. They are also upgrading KOS-MOS to fit the Tertiary Weapon system into her. In Shion's memory we find out there is a craft that can interact with hyperspace as part of her equipment. She can interface with it.
The voice syncronization is off, but it still works to prove my previous KOS-MOS statements.

U-do is an energy entity from a higher dimension responsible for the space/time anomally that gave birth to Xenosaga's dimension.
Albedo, Negrido & Jr. were part of a series of U.R.T.V weapons designed to combat U-do. They failed miserably and as a result they lost sanity. Jr. was safe because he cut the link before U-do's conciousness got to him.
