Soulcalibur 4

Well that was a totaly random comment....

As to remark on my previous post, the latency (teh word I was looking for earlier btw) at least (if not the player skill) improved a lot after the rest of Europe woke up and begun playing, and as the North Americans went to bed, no more overseas connections made the game fun to play.

What's irritating is when people get desperate and start using the cheapest tactics possible. Hiding in a corner just spamming low kicks or if they have bows or spears low bow attacks. Yoda. 😐

It'd be so much easier if you could move while blocking.

In frustration I begun playing Special Versus, and against the cheap-tacticusers I have a great Azeroth who have a 200% Attack power, meaning I kill every other character with 3 hits. It's usually the surprise of seeing almost their entire healthbar disappearing within 3 sec that is the factor making me win, they seem to need some time to recollect wtf is happeningand by then I have a Perfect kill.

However, once I meet the non-cheapsters who use fast characters, I am unable to even get in one hit because the sacrifice of HP I had to do to get the Attack power.

Ya know what really grinds my gears?

THE APPRENTICE!!!and the fact that Siegfried an Nightmare have these giant swords but no power or at least not the power you would come to expect.

What? Seigfried/Nightmare do great damage. Maybe not in single strikes but since almost all of Sigfried/Nightmare's attacks are two-step combos it hardly matters.

That's what I mean, you shouldn't have to do multi strikes, they have gigantic swords that really hinder their speed/recovery time and they ALWAYS suck at close range, if your gonna give'em similar weakness like the slow guys at least give'im similar power in single strikes. The moves they have that look like they hurt, don't hurt and that's is really my point. If yur gonna have blades like that I would expect some Astroth type damage or at least close to it. Mitsurugi does more damage in single strikes and he's got a God damn katana.

The thing about Siegfried and Nightmare is that they're okay for button mashers, superb for people who learn their combos. And since pretty much every basic attack can be turned into at least a 3-hit combo...

Also, learn Siegfried's form changes and their related moves and he'll become ten times better.

Also, Mitsurugi has always been overpowered, even in the original Soul Edge/Calibur/Blade. His flaw is that all his good attacks are vertical and linear. He tends to fail against sidesteps.

The Patriot agent is right.

One other thing you are overlooking is that Nightmare also has excellent ring out moves. Nightmare may not do too much damage per hit, but his advantages weigh out the drawbacks.

To you seasoned SC vets.

I've never played a SC game before, and this game look pretty interesting. I'm thinking about buying it.

Are there any other fighting games that this game is like? So that I have a point of reference.

Heh, I was thinking the same thing. I briefly played SCIII though I never got into SC, but will probably pick this one up this weekend. Kind of wondering what it's similar to.

None I can truly think off honestly. Though if I had to choose a single fighting game it is similar to, I guess it would be Tekken, though the similarities are not much.

Tekken, huh?

Well, considering Tekken 3 is my favorite fighting game ever...

Yeah, they are kinda similar, but SC uses weapons instead of H2H, and instead of the four attack types in Tekken, in SC you have horizontal weapon attack, vertical weapon attack, melee attack(usually some sort of kick and maybe a shoulder barge, Nightmare punches though cause of his super cool hand), and the guard button, with you able to high or low guard.

Grabs are done in SC pretty much the same as Tekken.

Tekken 3 was the shit, my main character has always been Yoshimitsu.

Yoshitmitsu's a ***** in SC4. I have not seen a single person play as him on the Internet.

I've never played a SC before but I love this game. The only other fighter I've got to compare is Virtua Fighter, so I guess its like that but with swords srug Im going to go buy SC3 for Xbox and play it on my 360 today.

The Apprentice is so awesome, in a cheap way, just back up to a ledge, then grab them with the vertical-button grab and throw them off in one hit lol.

Those guys are heaps powerful, upgrade them in character creation, I use Siegfried's Forward-Forward-Vertical attack and it kills people in 4 hits. And his Forward-Forward-Horizontal attack is good for knock outs.

Well Yoshimitsu in SC can go **** himself. 🙂

He usually does. 🙂

that would be retarded and broken, seeing how in soul calibur you dont take guard damage.. only your armors get chipped off

just guard impact them if they spam things.. follow up with a punish

Also, there is no game like soul calibur.. at all..

check out soul calibur 1 on xbox live or buy a used copy of Sc2 if you're that curious
