Maybe so, maybe not. i doubt it. One of the (many) reasons?: Gory fatalities were "MK" staples. Now they're gone in exchange for DC's finest. (in order to make way for them.)

And "Sc4"'s competitors will be "tekken 6", "mk vs dc", and "street fighter4". They're formidable but they won't come within a mile of "Sc4".

they're two different kinds of fighters

MKvDC is a more experimental american fighting game

Soul Calibur series is one of japans finest fighters.. and thank god they're patching it.. all the better

if I were to compare the two personally... MKvDC doesnt hold a candle to SC4

I don't know, if any of those could, it would be SF4.

SC4 and MKvsDC were both quite a shocker and these are the reasons why:

SC4 has characters from the Star Wars universe which are completely out of place in this game.

MKvsDC is one crossover game people hardly expected would ever happen. Obviously DC pwns MK but hey, Midway will make any game as long as one fan joins their side.

Nah. Crysis is on another level graphically, there's no comparison at all.

Fun game though.

crysis is great graphically but scenic-wise and character model-wise. sc4 beats it, imo.

sc4's graphics a superb; just above great.

crysis has phenomenal physics which enhances the already great graphics it has so that's why you probably think that way, understandibly.

This is all really just questionable and seriously, it's regional by a vast margin.

If you want the fighting game that has the MOST popularity, SNK Fighting Games destroy all other fighting games by like...203498230948239048293048209384920384 margin, no if's and's or what's. I guess High School Fighters, and exotic clothed characters with Japanese wear, and straps tied between both legs (does that make logic sense for any fighter?) are appealing to the masses. Only Country that doesn't like SNK Fighters on a massive scale is the US, and that's because we prefer Street Fighter as our pinnacle 2-D Fighter.

SC4 is actually a small community in comparison to most here in the US, however it's larger in Euro and Japan. MK vs DC...we have "yet" to see a big community considering the MK community has not been solid or big since the 90's, and Tekken 6 is one of the few 3-D fighting games that is actually popular worldwide in S. Korea, Japan, Euro and US to name a few...actually, Tekken is more popular and more played at the competition lvl then even SC, so that pretty much says it right there.

Then you have SF:IV in which Capcom has not made a SF game in how long, and this has actually sparked interest again in alot of people and players, this game will definitely receive arguably the most competition here in the US without a doubt competition wise, and Japan would be up there as well.

Actually, again, SF is played more on a competitive lvl then even SC is worldwide, so SF:IV has alot of spunk as well, but only time will tell with it's full release, and especially when it comes to console.

SC4 is a solid game, and is making good due, however remember the bad blood of SC3...it has to clean that up, because SC3 really shanked the SC community.

Still with SC4, the community will rise up. Now if they make a Soul Calibur 5...

Sc4's controls are tight as hell. Your controller's the one that might be stiff.

No, not really. I found the control style to be jerky and unresponsive. It's nothing to do with my controller, just my opinion.

And i'll always be the first one to say graphics don't matter if a game's sh*t. I'll never deny that.

And Crysis is the only game that comes real close to Sc4's graphics but "Bioshock"? Sc4's character models, especially facially, are photorealistic. Don't remember Bioshock looking photorealistic. Half Life 2 looks better than Bioshock and that came out what 3 years ago..Doom 3 looks better. And Sc4 looks way better than both..

None of those games bar Crysis are actually a better graphical achievement than Bioshock, that's the talk of an unbelievably biased fan. SC4 is cartoony and polished, the best cartoony and polished, maybe.

There isn't a first person shooter, or game on the market, that has better graphics than Bioshock besides Crysis. Well, PC games I imagine, but not Half Life, and to be on topic, CERTAINLY not SC4. That's laughable.

And Sc4's open world scenery outshines all of "Bioshock's" enclosed and clausterphobic graphics. And gamewise "Bioshock" is good but I beat it in a week. On hard. And I didn't wanna play it again. Why.. I accomplished everything you could in it. There was no more to do and nothing else to get.

Then that's your opinion of why SC4 is a better game, it's stupid to compare GAMEPLAY of the two, we're talking graphics. Bioshock's are better, and so are many other games. For you to say SC4 is the best graphics EVER in the history of gaming is utterly ludicrous. Most PCs can't run Crysis on account of the graphics, and you're telling me that some cartoony, polished beat 'em up is surpassing it? Give me a break.

Not the case with Sc4, though. In fact it's the opposite.

I played it and found it utterly dire. I had more fun on Tekken 2, but then again, I'm good at fighting games. I don't necessarily enjoy games who give shit players the benefit of winning by ring out.

It wasn't a good idea with Virtua Fighter and time hasn't sweetened it.

I think it's unwise to compare the graphics of a fighting game and a shooter, especially when each one's atmosphere and setting is obviously very different. Fighting games will always have excellent character models because the game only has to render two models at a time, where as a shooter has to render many.

That said, I think Bioshock's graphics are superb. Might not have as good character models, but the atmosphere of the game; the world itself, is still unmatched. But that's not just because of pure graphical prowess, it's also because of spectacular art design.

No, physics has nothing to do with it. Crysis looks photo realistic. Soul Calibur 4 does not. And as said above Crysis has to render many characters at once, SC4 only has to render two at once. And frankly as far as scenery goes, Crysis is unmatched. The island is one of the most amazing and realistic settings ever created in a game.

Take a look.

Must admit, Soul Caliber 4 does beat it...if you're stupid.

Going by that Dead or Alive 4 looks better 😐

Yeah, anyone saying SCIV is photorealistic must be blind. It's not, by a long shot.

And I also found the controls for it stiff and unresponsive. And I know it's not my controller, because I switch which controller I use regularly, I have no problem in any other games, and have played it on another 360s than my own and it felt the same.

Going by that screen shot DOA2 looks better.

Haha, I was going to say 3 at first, but I thought go with the obvious one.

Don't you normally go out and say graphics don't make a game good?

I think, though that is true, it doesn't apply in a debate about which game's graphics are better.

Exactly.

We're debating graphics, and if you claim Soul Caliber 4 is anywhere close to Crysis, then you're a fool. If you prefer SC4, fine, but they're not superior overall.

The PCs needed to run Crysis have more power than any console imaginable, and SC4 probably doesn't even use the most of the 360's power.

No offense but you get a big "LOL" from me, as I've yet to ever lose a match online due to ringout...

You'd have to get your ass beat for quite a long time, and not be aware of your surroundings, to get driven back that far, than raped off the edge..

Or just be against someone who got a good string of combos. It's not that difficult to ring someone out. It's pretty easy to do with certain characters, in fact.

If you're kinda weak, yeah.

Good string of combos= get your ass beat for quite a long time.

I'd explain it, but I'm sure JustFrame will pop in here and destroy everyone's feeble attempts with the usual spiel of game mechanic talk. He/she is good at that.

Point being, most combos are dodgable and avoidable and can be broken...
