Man, that sucks. I was close to level 20 when I was playing that free trial. Are there special areas available once you reach level 20, or do you just continue with the storyline until it ends?

I looked at all the sets of armor on the Guild Wars wiki page, and most of them look pretty cool. The prices are crazy...

If you buy the actual campaign, you can apply the access key to your account you were using with the trial, so you won't lose your character ๐Ÿ˜›

And there really aren't any level-restricted areas, but like my dork of a brother says, there are places you really don't want to go unless you're fully leveled up and have max armor all runed out and with insignias on it. And places like the Underworld and Fissure of Woe which can't be accessed until you're Ascended (which you likely won't be until level 20), and elite missions which are late enough in the game where you'll definitely be level 20.

And yes, elite armor is very pricey ๐Ÿ˜› my Dervish has Vabbian armor. It looks like it'd be cheap, until you take into account the material costs. It cost like ~150k in total. However, I have deemed it more than worth it ๐Ÿ˜›

Not trying to push you into it, but I do want to say that City of Heroes is different from anything else you've played. You actually get super powers.

Yeah Black Yoshi, it does. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ $15.00 a month I believe. It starts with a month of free trial like everything else though.

Superpowers is not something that interests me in anything, sorry to say. It tends to do the opposite.

I have access to the closed betas for that game. It's...eh. It's pretty, I suppose, but the graphics don't really impress me and the game itself is just a standard Chinese/Korean MMO clone. I played during the last beta and got bored very fast.

83 pages in, and the Sephiroth side is revisitting points that have already been disproven.. That thread may never end. T_T

I'll just play the free trial instead.

It's good that I won't lose my character, but he won't get much stronger since he was close to level 20.

Oh, okay. What does it mean to be ascended?

Well, unless you've already got a perfect build with skills and everything put together already (which isn't likely, as you won't have access to elite skills yet), yeah, you will get stronger still ๐Ÿ˜› You can be level 20 and have a hard time killing anything, or be able to trounce all over areas, depending on what skills you have and what you're using.

And that's basically a plot thing; in Prophecies they call it Ascension, in Factions it's called getting closer to the stars, and in Nightfall it doesn't really exist. Basically the important part is that you can change your secondary profession and you can access certain parts of the game that you couldn't before.

Well, you got a point there.

Oh, okay. I might keep my secondary profession because the other professions don't interest me that much.

I still haven't really settled on a build I like for my Assassin ๐Ÿ˜› Or rather, I did, but then they changed the elite skill I was using and the other I want isn't until a lot further on in the game.

And for the most part generally people only use one or two skills from their secondary. There are obviously exceptions to this (for example, an Assassin using Dervish skills is incredibly deadly, and Mesmers are awesome for using long-casting Elementalist spells) but for the most part your secondary isn't hugely important. Only my Mesmer regularly uses more than one secondary skill.

Oh, okay. I don't know all of the builds that are available, but I might check out the Guild Wars wiki page again.

Really? What kind of Dervish skills would make an assassin deadly?

There are tons and tons of builds available. It's fun to play around with them. I usually come up with my own for my characters, but for my heroes I'm lazy and copy stuff from PvXwiki.

An Assassin's primary attribute is Critical Strikes, which basically increases the chance of doing increased damage. Scythes are the highest damage weapons in the game. Getting a critical hit with a scythe is painful. I'm actually considering trying out a scythe build with my Assassin, just to see how fun it is. I also use a build on her sometimes that uses Ranger skills to deals lots of damage over a wide area.

Is it hard to make a build? I might make one if I find an interesting set of stuff.

Oh, okay. I'm pretty sure this is on the wiki page, but are there any special abilities that a assassin/elementalist can have?

Not really. Making an effective one generally requires a bit of fiddling and testing and just basically trying things out.

A/E is one of the most common combos, and one of the most powerful when used right. Go look up Shadow Form ๐Ÿ˜› With the right combo of skills, it can be kept up permanently which can basically make you invincible.

Scream I would like you to know that I am currently playing Majora's Mask to prove to myself the whip argument is wrong. estahuh

haven't played that in awhile.

I may actually play to get the final mask cause I was always to lazy to do everything necessary

Riful and Dauf Vs. Abyssal Feeders, Alicia and Beth.

Place your bets ๐Ÿ˜Ž

God I love that game. I've been meaning to play through it again but everytime I start someone makes a new thread I can't stay away from. :[ Majora needs more thredz!

I am about to enter the Ikana Castle right now.

That's probably my favorite. The puzzles in that one are ace. The N64 Zelda's are probably my favorite.
