Nope, it says this is the truth, Sony have made a games console that has hardly any worthwhile games in it's catalogue, has an absurd price range for a gaming device, lacks features such as BC and has a lackluster online experience compared to that of it's opponent. It seems more people buy a PS3 for the Blu ray, ergo it is redundant as a gaming console.

In the PS3's defense, it doesn't have lackluster online. At least not in my experience. The Wii has lackluster online. I find it incredible that Sony got such better online and still managed to keep it free like the Wii. How Nintendo could suck so much baffles me.

I used lackluster in terms of comparing it against Microsofts LIVE which in hindsight really does make the PS3's online capabilities look lackluster. I'm sure for what it is it is good, but up against LIVE it falls very short.
Well yeah, but still. Compared to the Wii, PS3 is freakin' great. I've only ever had lag on my PS3 online twice, and to me those two times don't merit $30.00 a month.
I question why the PS3 dropped it's BC though. I think the original $600.00 models had it, and they dropped it for the newer, cheaper ones. Why would they drop that? They should have dropped something most people already have a machine for, the DVD player. If not drop that then drop the Blu Ray. Is Blu Ray even that popular yet?

They dropped BC to cut costs because no one was buying the systems because they were so ridiculously expensive.
Also because people weren't buying PS3 games, and that's where they make the profit, not from the systems themselves.
What really makes me laugh is the PS3 fanboys haven't come up with any new arguments in like two years.
Live Gold is optional, so no 360 user is required to pay a fee. If they choose to get Gold, then $50 a year is an incredibly good price for the quality of the service.
Exclusives is a bunk argument, because PS3 is still receiving lackluster third-party support, and none of the few exclusives they do have merit the frankly ludicrous price of the console.
A price that has obstinately remained high, despite the fact that the console has actually dropped features, which is still losing Sony money on their PS3s, as they simply aren't selling at all, due to the price.
It really is time to accept the facts, guys. The PS3 ain't doing great, and the 360 is.

The only thing you can't do if you don't have Gold is play with others, and you have to wait a few days to download stuff like new demos.

I'm not choosing sides, but I have to admit it's crazy how people would spend so much money on one gaming console. In fact, I remember some of the news reports about the stampedes that occurred on the first day the PS3 was available in stores, which was funny.
Anyway, although the free trial is about to end, I've been enjoying "City of Heroes" lately. It's boring at the beginning, but it gets better.
