Eventually, everything in TV productions falls to the audience. Ratings go up when the audience enjoys the show, simple as that. As a result, shows are largely dictated by what the audience wants from them. It's not evident in a one-shot season; it has to be seen in the changes between seasons.

this is technically true. but again it doesnt actually with conflict with anything ive said. ๐Ÿ˜›

And now that I think about it, where in the CW miniseries did the Jedi ever lose, except for when the series was showing off Grievous? [/B]

too my knowledge never but the clones sure did. when they were fighting with mace against the CIS the CIS killed literally every single clone and only mace survived... and durge with his droid army was whooping on the clones something fierce. only losing because of obiwan and all of the clones that went with anakin were killed by ventress. thats kind of what i mean by balanced fights. i dont mind seeing the clones pull out a couple stomps and uber victories but id like to see them work for it and i highly doubt the current CW cartoon will ever show the CIS return the favor and showing an entire clone army of hundreds get utterly decimated by the droids without even a small victory of hope of survival. the CIS were supposed to have come dangerously close to winning the war. going by the current series though that doesnt seem to be even possibly true. instead of seeing cold and calcuating droids we see idiots who are so incompetent that they shoot each other. *sighs*

Clones are shown being beaten down in TCW. The reason it's not as noticeable is because the show tends to focus on Rex and Cody, who are established as being elite clones with a history already written. Cody is in RotS and is therefore protected by a plot shield; Rex is a fan favorite and possibly the most efficient, battle-geared clone ever.

getting beaten down is one thing. getting so horribly spanked that the mission is impossible to complete and even one person escaping with their life is a miracle, is something else entirely. the latter is realistic large scale warfare. if the clones go through all their battles with minimal losses why did it take them 4 years to win?

Since when is anything realistic about Star Wars?

It's unrealistic in its very nature. It's not real. It's not meant to be realistic.

Also, I'm pretty sure that TCW/Clone Wars miniseries/the movies don't show anything more than a small minority of the battles going on around the galaxy.

look at the old clone wars cartoon. it is much more realistic in its portrayal of how grand scale war is.

This is Star Wars. Where does realistic warfare fit in?

As another note, I always understood that the CIS was a dangerous opponent mostly because of enormous resources. Not even in the movies are the forces shown to be terribly competent. Battle droids were never a huge threat in and of themselves.

its a well known fact that one clone is worth multiple battle droids in competency. but the sheer number of droids make it so that whenever the two forces meet its a slaughter on both sides. TCW does not show this.

How so, specifically? I'm not going to dig up my DVDs to watch the whole thing.

Actually, it really wasn't. What it was, though, was highly stylized to make the main characters appear to be extremely powerful (far more than they should have been) while the mooks were all but useless (and far weaker than they should have been).

Wouldn't you need to find them first? ๐Ÿ˜›

and then theres greivous magnagaurds tearing up the clones as well as tons of clones biting it in the Mon Calamari fight.

those are all times where even though the republic ultimately won it suffered extremely heavy losses sometimes losing all of the clones in the process in order to achieve victory. that goes in tandem with what the other eu says. its realistic according to the other material while the new show is not.

but both sides had overly exaggerated characters. for whatever overpowered shenanigans obiwan and anakin had ventress was still smart enough and strong enough to take them on seriously. for whatever shit mace and yoda did GG was doing the same things. everything had an equilibrium the heroes were equal with each other the "mooks" were equal with each other and that is what the primary canon and the EU have stated. it was a war that lasted 4 years and over that course many jedi and clones were killed and the republic nearly ran out of troops due to the tenacity of the CIS. the current star wars show does not show that but the old one did. the old show showed the main villains as caluclating and relentless even if they failed in their mission while the new one shows them as bumbiling incompetents and cowards.

I hope we aren't trying to make Star wars seem realistic that's a very big stretch to pull off.

She was good then she became a villain.

Not really, she still had feelings for Goliath and hoped he would join her, but she wasn't above trying to kill him if he got in the way, or kill humans just for the sake of it. After the final part of the pilot episode she's a villain up until the series ends, with the exception of the time she saves her daughter from Thailog, thats the only time she ever shows anything good left inside her.

It's not fair, I want a DSi. -.-

I finished Majora's Mask for the first time today. It's pretty epic, especially the Final Six Hours' music.
