Originally posted by Burning thoughtNot always, and you do not factor in the fact that Ganondorf does not always know that a Link exists at the start of every game, Link is not a constant like Ganondorf, he appears in different times.
Which he acquires over a period of time, usually the whole game...Ganon seems to learn nothing from his defeats...He could have captured link hundreds of times, he has castles, armies, soldiers. Apprently he has TK, he can teleport himself, hell if he had any intelligence at all he would at least used his resources to make sure most of the objects Link is trying to find, including the people cannot contact him.
Oh really? How would he go about doing that? In Wind Waker, he was trapped in the undersea Hyrule, he could not physically leave it except to go to his base in Forsaken Fortress, but when he left Hyrule his powers were weakened, after he got his power back he manipulated Link into giving away the location of Zelda, oh, and guess what? After that he DID capture Link, and almost claimed the entire Triforce, if not for the interference of King Hyrule, he would have won, but with Hyrule's interference, he wished for the children to have a future and for Hyrule and Ganondorf to be drowned at the bottom of the sea...Guess what happened? The Triforce itself was against him.
In Twilight Princess he could not even mantain physical form without Zant, but guess what? When he became aware of Link's presence, he sent Zant to incapacitate Link(It is Zant's stupidity that he did not kill him) and Midna, hell, he pretty much killed Midna, who was only revived with the Triforce of Wisdom from Zelda. He was not able to deal with Link personally until the end of the game, where he first fought Link while possessing Zelda, then he fought Link and Midna, then he fought and defeated Midna, then he fought Link and Zelda armed with Light Arrows, then he fought Link one-on-one, and STILL only was truly defeated when Zant appeared to kill himself.
Even a younger, more arrogant Ganondorf in OoT played everyone, he started by allying the Gerudo with the king in order to get closer to the Royal Family, and by extension, the Ocarina of Time, and manipulated Link into acquiring all the Spiritual Stones for him, which could only be handed over willingly. He played Link into opening the Doors of Time for him, so he could possess the Triforce, but he only acquired the Triforce of Power because that was the aspect of it he desired most, something he could not have known would happen. He would then allow Link to awaken the Sages, all so Zelda would reveal herself to Link, and when she did he captured her and awaited Link to come battle him, which he lost, due to his arrogance, this was a younger Ganondorf after all.
Ganondorf is one of the few Nintendo villains who is actually competent, having ruled the world for seven years, the fact that he loses is PIS, and you clearly have no idea what the **** you are talking about.
