I admit that was indeed wrong to say, although my point stands the same. Science does take into account variables to come to its conclusion which was my point, science is typically based on other facts that are considered. E.g the fact an object would move based on a gravitational pull is based on the facts considered by gravity. There are no facts in the variables that are conclusions from Becci or perceptions by Becci.

But you and peach backed up my argument again, my argument was her basis was ridiculous as well as hypocritical and she disagreed with herself. You added directly wrong to this as according to you fact is not actually necessarily factual in truth making her wrong, and me correct.

Evaluating people is still not a fact, which was still again...my point..

Yes your just making a huge red herring based on your own statement to try and back Becci up, and at the same time you and your Girlfriend have simply succeeded in making sure I am indeed correct, as it stands Becci tripped up on her argument and you've now landed a weight on it making sure it stays down.

Hypocritical nonsense that contradicts itself AND now according to you, has no basis on truth as her so called facts are factually not facts....well done you.

You are entirely missing the point yet again, which seems to be a habit when talking to me.

My point was that you use the term "fact" in a very incorrect way. The conclusion meant to be taken from my post is that "fact is based on perceptions," not "there is no fact."

Please read it again with that in mind.

fact is absolute. you cant perceive fact. that is called theory.

ice and water vapor?

Well you better warn/ban her because she said I have a history, she did not say "acting". Its the same sort of thing anyway, its either a troll/bait or its a insult, either deserves being reprimanded. [/B]

You do. If that gets me banned, there's nothing more to be done. You factually have a history of it. The encyclopedia says you do. The day I can't trust the English encyclopedia to tell me what a word means, is the day I'll stop using it.

To my knowledge, that day is not today.

In your ealier post, you claimed that I was wrong when I said what I said. All I did was clarify what I thought, which you then interpreted as offensive, which wasn't my intent and for which I apologize.

Your information and more so Peach' provides the basis for there not being truth in Beccis words. Hence her failing and now yours.

I am useing it for what the term means, whether its right or not is neither here nor there, by saying I am incorrect it does not defeat my argument, merely creates for me another basis if you want to be so technical and "factual".

Although...

Look, it doesn't matter if you said water and didn't mean ice or vapor. They are still the same thing. Water can be a solid, liquid, or gas. Just because they're referred to as having different common names does not mean they are not the same thing. By simply saying "water" without qualifying that mean you liquid water, you leave the assumption that you were referring to H2O in general.

And I was actually genuinely curious about how old you are. Not looking to insult you there at all, so I don't know why you seemed to have taken it as such.

No. Fact is not absolute. That's the entire point of this.

Also, what? That is not at all what theory is.

The encyclopedia does not say "BT has a history of being stupid", your just bashing in a way the mods would not reprimand, if I tried it I would indeed be punished ๐Ÿ™„ once again dear, take into account the "fact" that your conclusions are not truth, nor are mine.

Well that's nice, but that does not mean I cannot pick apart your extremely poorly created post and therefore your judgement.

No, actually, our information simply backs up the idea that to her, her opinion may very well be fact based on how she's observed you to act. It doesn't mean that you have to take it as fact, but to her, it may be.

Just like I can state that for me, Legacy of Kain is factually a shitty game. You don't have to agree, but based on my perceptions, it is.

peaches you are really indeed a part time mod and a hypocrite. what you just said to BT is clearly against your very first post. of course no action will be taken against you. moderators do not take sides, they keep the peace and you fail. miserably.

Sigh.

Facts are not absolute. I do not know where people get this idea from. A fact is simply something that has a great deal of evidence showing that it may be true, but there is always allowance for something else. As has been seen many times.

Facts are based on theories.

Look, this is how it works.

A hypothesis - opinion - is created. Then, research or observations are made, and analyzed to see if they back up this opinion. If enough evidence is compiled that backs up the opinion, it is considered a theory. If this continues, and there is an overwhelming amount of evidence to back it up, it is considered a law, which basically means it is a fact. But there is always the possibility that something else may occur that disagrees with it. Gravity is a law, however, there are things that do not behave the way gravity dictates they should.

Hate to break it to you, but everyone's a hypocrite in some form.

And no, it's not, and no, I do not.

Sorry but its obviously her opinion, everyone on a forum is opinion, but she states it as fact which is what I am picking at.....which destroys the point of what she was claiming. if she wants to play the "its my opinion" and "perception" then she should not use the words "fact" and "truth" so much to try and back herself up to create some kind of truth, or display her own truth.

She should actually outline its an opinion. If she does not, then its no wonder I will pick it apart, if shes so sure of herself, I have taken it upon myself to destroy that idea and make her realise she is wrong from her own perception. Thanks for helping me.

fact i am not wearing socks right now. no theory. it is absolute.

lots of evidence doesnt make it a fact.

Facts do indeed exist ,especially from the perspective of video gaming.

You're making more and more a fool out of yourself. Leave the discussion to Burning Thought. He has a case. You're kicking in the dark.

who said facts dont exist?

What? hes kicking his toes in the dark?

This has no logical basis as first, a human being only has a pair of sets of toes, therefore, he would have to have detached his toes to be able to kick them and in so doing would cause enough pain to his body that he would not by any means wish to kick them about the place regardless of his mental disposition. ๐Ÿ˜

That's not a fact, that's a claim. You have no evidence to back up your position.

And your second statement is patently incorrect. Evidence is exactly what makes something fact.

Nobody said facts do not exist. You just keep reading "facts are based on observations" to mean that.

What I said back a page or two was that, scientifically speaking, absolute facts do not exist. You will notice that the words "always" and "never" are generally not used when talking about scientific theory and the like.

What?

"Kicking in the dark" is simply a phrase meaning "you're way off". Similar to the colloquial phrase "taking a shot in the dark". It's not literal, FFS.
