I say the number one starter is Turtwig. For some reason I find the concept of Torterra to be incredibly awesome.

Venusaur is actually doing pretty well right now. Toxic Spikes was getting really common, and he basically does what Torterra does with the added bonus of being immune to Poison.

Edit: Ghost and Dark types do not lack good representation. Darkrai and Giritina in Ubers, Gengar and Honchkrow in OU, Mismagius and Houndoom in UU.

I need to work on my ghosts... I think I'm only missing one ghost type and one psychic type...

Been running Torterra/Gengar for doubles and it's pretty successful...

Gengar just gains unnecessary weaknesses from poison and it's annoying.

Edit: I don't know what OU and UU mean, nor do I want to know.
