No, it's not cool enough to get you into the popular clique in your local high school, but it has cool stuff. A lot of cool stuff. Nerd cool seems to be appropriate.

I wouldn't say Pokemon as a whole would be cool. I do think that there are a few things in Pokemon that are cool though. Mostly just a few Pokemon themselves.

There are some cool looking Pokemon. And there are others that are...not so much. Pokemon as a whole isn't really cool. Its quite childish. But people love it for the nostalgia of the old games.

Pokemon is a great strategy, turn based RPG, the elements within are made so that they can appeal to a younger audience. It's not really childish. Gears of War is childish, an appeal to base nature where violence is fun and exciting rather than brutal and horrifying.

Whether you enjoy Pokemon or not depends on how much you enjoy strategy based RPG's with a light hearted atmosphere.

Who cares if Pokemon is 'cool' or not? How fun you find it and how much you enjoy playing it is what matters.

I sometimes couldn't help but visualize how a Pokemon screams in mind-boggling agony as he gets reduced to a charred corpse when a certain electric mouse shoots lightning at him/her.
