Think it was after, dunno.

Charizard lost to Dragonite a bit before Johto I believe and he beat the Articuno after the Hoenn so it was quite a bit of time.

i used to live in a city where clouds were only 80 feet above our heads. "clouds" by themselves dont mean anything.

no animal has ever flown that high, and the only aircraft that have ever reached that altitude are jets, and that is because they possess...

the reason why jet thrusters allow jets to fly that high up is because that way they dont depend on the air actually providing lift. objects with wings (including helicopters) do. thats why helicopters cant fly above 40,000 feet. past that point there is simply not enough air to keep it afloat. and that specific helicopter is the #1 most powerful helicopter humans have, and its a one of a kind. all the rest can barely go past 8,000 feet before there's not enough air.

edit- theres also the matter of lack of breathing for charizard, and redding out and blacking out. all of these factors would prevent a biological creature from flying that high without the use of magic or mechanics.

Fine, here's why you're wrong.

Jets have wings. These wings provide the lift, the thrusters only allow them to move at the speed required to attain said lift in a thinnner atmosphere. /win.

Winged flight is possible higher than that, Charizard is perfectly capable of it. We see him fly up, past the clouds, watch the island and mountain/volcano below shrink to ridiculousness, and then Charizard throw Magmar down.

Charizard hasn't had his training in the fight with Draggy.

and charizard does not have thrusters.

therefore you owe me some kind of sugary delights, because i win.

preferably cookies, mrs. fields, but chocolate cake will do as well. i want it by saturday at noon. >\

he has the speed without them.

You can have them, but I still win. >|

I have a bunch of vanilla cookies. It'll take me a biiit longer to get to what I believe is probably California? than that, though.

im in los angeles yesh. DUN WANNA HEAR NO EXCUSES THOUGH.

The highest a bird has ever been recorded to fly was some Griffin Vulture, nearly 38,000 feet up in the air. How high is that, high enough for Scream's argument?

He descends from however high he was in a similar amount of time to Magmar, who he threw.

It's helpful, but I don't think pokemon are typicly limited by what real animals do. πŸ˜›

he didnt fly that high foo'

>_> HAX.

the air here isnt clean. πŸ™

36K feet barely extends past the lowest point of the atmosphere.

he didnt fly that high foo'
Flew for quite awhile after already breaching the clouds, high enough for a volcano the size of a mountain to resemble a small hill below πŸ˜›

Solution: Canada. ExceptforToronto.Placeisfilthy.

so he flew about 7000 feet up.

not terribly impressive. 131

POLAR BEARS? 😱

Oops sorry, Zard can only fly at 4600 feet. 😐

There were no clouds over Charizard up to the distance that he flew. He was damn high.

Yep. And I believe it was argued that if the anime and game were to disagree on points, the game would win. πŸ™‚

It says that in the game? πŸ˜‘

Also, YES Polar bears 😎

I accidentally posted his flight altitude was 5600 on an earlier post. Meh, Zard's Toss on Magmar was kewl, but I think it was just animation effex to look kewl. Heck, the animation on the Toss in later episodes was Charizard circling t3h eart a few times.

He circled with the earth in the distance in that one >_> But I ignored it because it was ridiculous.

Where's it say 4600 feet?
