A poster posts like he did in that thread and you have an issue with him being banned for it after a clear warning?
You don't even care that he was making personal attacks based on an entirely false premise, and wouldn't even take the two seconds to check how completely in the wrong he was?
That's a real issue if you think there is anything wrong there. His ban should be a general warning against unintelligent, ill-mannered and aggressive posting.
And also about learning to read properly before making such ridiculous attacks. Any time I see a poster attack someone with such a ridiculous excess of testosterone simply for stating a technical fact, he is going to get warned, and if he continues to argue it he is going to get banned.
Likewise, I am very wary of posters who do not think his behaviour was ban worthy. The only thing that needs to be done in such a situation is for posters like that to either change their attitude- or be removed. What is worrying me now is that other people are not taking the few seconds to take to see how wring he is. Have the basics of a. courteous reading of posts and b. courteous replies to them been lost?

5L has been warned in the past and has been told several times to knock off his overly aggressive behaviour. Making attacks on someone is never acceptable. Continuing to do so after a warning is clear grounds for a ban. It's really that simple.
Guess what, guys. Not all of the mods here are as lenient as I tend to be. You have been informed of this fact on multiple occasions.
The Scenario, that's honestly disgraceful, if that is the interpretation you take. Intentionally or otherwise, he mis-reads a post where all I did was state a fact and used it to make a totally unjustified attack on me. That's out and out trolling- and he continued to do it, post after post.
If you do not recognise that, you have completely lost perspective.
Honestly, there is a real attitude problem around here, amongst a certain group of posters.
